Hi,

The French always ask you for the date of the 1st day of your last period. Mine was one the 21/12/2007 and I ovulated very early like the 26/12/2007(When I had my 1st scan that's what the woman told me). She said that I was due for the 26/09/2008 and when I went on the internet that what I saw, they all said that except my GP( because if I 'd ovualted normally then I'd be due for the 04/10/2008).

If you need help I can help you out. You need to send out your 'déclaration de grossesse' that your mw is going to fill out( mw is only going to fill it out if U've done ur 12 weeks scan) to the CAF ( if you have a number or contact them to get one) and to Social Security so that your tests will be covered by them). You need to send it out before the end of your 14th week of pregnancy.

Cheers and I'm here to help,

Do you calculate it from when your last period was, or from when they think you ovulated?
I live in France and am confused sometimes at my appointments as its all in french - thank god for this forum! My gynaecolgist calculated due date as 28th feb, but online pregnancy calendars have all said a week earlier than that.
My last period was 15 May and I think I ovulated 29 May ...... so what am I now? I thought 12 weeks tomorrow.

If anyone can be bothered to calculate it for me thatd be v nice indeed!

lea xx

I think I am still where I thought I was, going on all the info you have given me and the online calculators.
12wks tomorrow.
And the due date will be between 19th feb (UK way) and 26th Feb (french way!)
So I have a week long due date.........

I checked online first using babycentre as well and came up with feb 13th my midwife used a little reel where they just use first day of last period to calculate it but she was a bit frazzled i think she wrote about 4 different dates because she added or subtracted or something! She told me feb 15th, but a scan i had at 8 weeks showed i was about a day ahead of what i thought, so a scan could change everything any way! have you got one booked yet?

'NHS Direct' website. They will calculate it for you automatically if you type in your dates.

Take care Hun

Due date is 41 weeks from last period, everywhere else it's 40. Not sure why you get an extra week in France but it means more time before they start interventions.

Hope that helps!

go from the first day of your last period.

I just looked on babycentre and by your dates your due date would be 19th feb making you 11 weeks. (I used this website to find my due date...it was the same as my midwives calculation and my little boy was born on this date)

Hope that helps
