"Birth story - baby arrived early 35+2wks "

Well girls I have been busy!lol Baby Grace decided to make her appearance into the world a bit earlier than planned at 35+2wks. She was born on 31 July at 00.14hrs weighing 6lb 2oz.My waters went at 5.30am on the Tues night...wasnt sure it was them, thot baby had just pushed on my bladder or something so wasnt really worried. Got period type cramps, but nothing reg, got up and took 2 paracetamol and pottered about the house, had a bath at 9am and the cramps went away. Phoned the MW at 11am and she told me to go on down to the hospital to get checked out. So by 3pm I was admitted as it was my waters and then the cramps became more reg until by 7pm they were coming ev 5mins and lasting 2mins. They examined my cervix and it was paper thin...must have been the RLTea tabs!lol So they took me down to the labour ward. As baby was lying OP it took a bit of pushing at the last bit to get her down...just used my hypno breathing and gas air which was manageable. No cuts as I had my birth plan all done out and I must say the MWs were very good at helping me stick to it and encouraging me. I found my hubby to be a real anchor to me and know I wouldnt have managed as well if he hadnt been there, the contractions were much more manageable when I had him in a head lock under one arm!lol So I got away with just a bit of grazing and one wee internal stich! Baby Grace had breathing difs when she was born due to her being prem they took her into the prem baby unit and put on drips etc, so 11 days later we have just got out. I was able to stay in with her which was a blessing as I dont think I could have left her and the fact that I wanted to breast feed her myself it was much easier if I was on tap so to speak!lol

So thats us back home today and Grace is doing really well...breast feeding ev 3hrs or so and that bit seems to be going fine so far, so fingers crossed that it continues as I do want to breast feed for at least 6mths...fingers crossed!

Hugs to all...Sharon and 11days old Baby Grace. xxx
