Take care

Hello again!
Just wondered if anybody has had a pool birth with their first baby. It seems to help the pain and seems quite relaxed. Does it get too cold though? I'll have to check my hosp too as they may not have a pool.
Love Sharon & 28 +4 blue bump

I agree! I again didn't have one with my first baby but have had two water births with my 2nd and 4th. It was lovely to get into the water, instantly calming and relaxing. I too worried about the temp as I love hot hot baths but as Lisa said the water feels fine and stays the right temp.
I have my birth account as a blog post on my page if yr interested.
I sooo recommend it as a great way to give birth......I delivered Jessica myself by reaching down and pulling her out of me once her arms were out and I could grip under her armpits! A truly magical moment!
Good luck! love Tracey xxxx

Hey hun,
I didnt have a pool birth with my first but have just had one with my second baby and I can totally recommend it! The whole experience was absolutely fantastic, really relaxing and instantly helped with the pain, the relief was quite amazing when I first got in. I really cant recommend it highly enough, if I was ever to have any more kids I would absolutely definitely do it again. My baby came out so smoothly and was the picture of tranquility when I pulled her out of the water. She is still just as calm and placid now at 3 days old, and Im convinced part of it is because of her relaxed entrance into the world.
As for the temperature, I was also a bit concerned that it might get a bit cold, as the water is usually just body temperature which feels cold if you do it yourself at home, but in actual fact it was quite the opposite. Just felt snug when I first got in, but after a few minutes in there and while you are experiencing your contractions it actually gets really hot. By the time I was pushing my baby out, I was so hot I was begging for water on my face and ice cubes to suck! Dont forget that unlike your bath at home, the water wont be allowed to drop in temperature and they will constantly keep refilling it to maintain the temperature so it stays nice and warm.
Hope this helps hun, but if you have any more questions please feel free to ask. I really loved my waterbirth and now I have my own little water baby.
Hugs Lisa n 3 day old Eden x
