My son is now 5 weeks old and Ive just done something I regret. I knew I shouldn't do it and how I regret it, I can barely relive my story.....

I just went up stairs and tried my old clothes on! Oh how I wish I hadn't, how demoralising- I couldn't fit my jelly belly into anything!

If anyone can help and eat all the chocolate in the world that'd be great

Love teachermum x

I think we've all done that .. I remember trying on my size 8 skinnies 2 weeks after giving birth and crying my eyes out when I couldnt get them past my thighs lol ...

these things take time, the weight has been coming off steadily and I can now fit into all my clothes and am only 3 pounds heavier than pre preg .. although my stomach doesnt really look the same hehe

I did that around 5 weeks as well. I had thought I'd only put on bump and everything else was about the same - until I couldn't even get them over my thighs!!

The good news is at 14 weeks some of my bigger pre-baby trousers look just about ok. I still weigh about a stone more than I did but I think it's mainly extra bust and I can live with that...
"Aww, we're all the same"

I've got all my thin clothes in a suitcase and OH keeps saying get rid, they'll never fit you again. I have assured him that they will and he said by that time he won't allow me to wear them cos they'll be too young for me.

He might well be right but I'm going to weigh watchers soon and I'll report progress.

It's only 5 weeks, chill out and give yourself a break.

You're doing just fine! You have only just had a baby and it will take a bit of time for everything to settle down. Your body's just done an amazing thing, carrying a mini-me! Just think how everything gets squashed up to make room for bubba in your belly!

One of the mw's on the ward in hospital said it will take at least 6wks for everything to start to get back to normal. Not everyone is like Posh Spice or Jordan - I reckon they had a tummy tuck after the birth, its just not real life!

Have a nice cuppa and some chocolate and congratulate yourself on being a brilliant yummy mummy!

Much love

Misschiefy & Elise (12 days old) xx

LOL, I thought the exact same- I thought Id only put a bit of extra weight on my tummy, until I couldn't get my jeans over my legs! Suddenly that fallacy that 'I can eat what I want because Im pregnant' has come crashing down on me

Anywho enough of feeling wobbly, let's raise a glass of wine and a chocolate biscuit to our littleuns and the new bodies they have given us

Teachermum xx
