"Im sure its the baby moving!?"
Posted by babygirlhall 7 March  at  09:58

Hi,
Im 18 1/2 weeks pregnant and over the past couple of days im sure i have felt the baby moving.
Its a really strange feeling like butterfly's or that feeling when you go over a tunnel and your tummy goes strange - is this it??
I have also led down and placed my hand on my belly and felt it moving underneath.
Im just confused because my work friends have said its quite early and they did not feel their babies this soon?

Thanks

yes you should be able to feel them at 18 weeks. I think i was about 15 or 16 weeks when i first felt mine. Initially they did just feel like fluttery feelings, now, at 23 weeks i'm getting proper little pokey feelings. I love it, especially as I'm not having anymore scans, it reassures me everything is ok. And today was the first time my boyfriend felt it with his hand on my tummy.

Hi - I'm only 13 1/2 weeks, but we did ask the midwife about this. She told us that we might start feeling things from 16 weeks on possibly. She told me that I might initially think that this is wind! She told me also that I should keep a note of what I feel when it starts each day, keep a track of what the baby's up to.
Sounds to me as though you are feeling the baby move - how exciting! K.x
