Good evening ladies
hope you are all well ... I have a bit of a dilema .. not really pregnancy or baby related .. hope this is ok ??
Our neighbours are having some work done on their house and they have builders there ..... the has been constant banging and drilling for the last hour, it was the same last Sunday and Monday evening - last Sunday the din continued until nearly 10pm !!!! OH and I were rather unhappy, as you can imagine, we have a young baby for goodness sake.
Im unsure as to what I should do though, they are a nice couple and I dont want to cause any bad feeling by going round there to complain but on the other hand I find it rather disrespectful to create such noise when there is a young family next door - what shall I do ????? Harry wasnt disturbed last week - he was still asleep by 8pm, but I think thats besides the point, I was on edge all night, worried that the noise would wake him.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated ,
Jo and Harry - nearly 19 weeks old

i would have to say something i think.
our kids would be up and awake if they heard drilling that late!
we wouldnt do anything after say 7 or 8ish as people want to have some peace in the evenings!
i would have a word and see what they say.

we were the opposite ! and were the ones making the noise but when we started we spoke to both neighbours and asked at what time they would like noise to stop, both said around 7.30 so we stuck to this and did the quieter stuff like painting at later hours. i'm sure if you speak to them they wont mind, its hard to know how much noise the neighbours can hear. also they may appreciate knowing if u gonna be out really late or away a night so they can press on . on the other hand if its not disturbing baby then its creating a good sleep habit, if a baby can sleep through noise then theyre an easy child to have !!! n you will have less sleep probs later on
dunno if this helps at all !

It seems a bit inconsiderate to be working so late. Maybe they genuinely haven't thought how loud it is. If you get on ok, maybe you could just say is there any chance of keeping it quiet after a certain time. They can't really ignore you.
Hope it quietens down soon!
