Hi everyone,
I just came back from my 32 weeks visit with the doctor. Everything is fine, baby has its head at the bottom (good news! hope he-she won't turn around before the birth). The doctor said that instead of being at my 32wks I could be at my 34wks (when she mesured my belly). That would mean that baby could come 2 weeks before (in 6 weeks time !!!!!)
Didn't realise it would be so soon!
I told her that I couldn't sleep because my legs were hurting me a lot, she said that I probably have sciatica (sciatique), which is not a good news but I can't do nothing about it. Does anyone have some as well?
Anyway, baby is fine and I'm quite active. Nothing has changed apart from the fact that I'm heavier.
The dotor said that if my belly become bigger too soon I would go for a 3rd scan (I've got my answer!!!).

And how about you?? How are you getting on, how many weeks are you now?
Im leaving work in 2 weeks
time but will still check the forum.

Speak to you soon.
Estelle.

Hi Estelle,
I am happy to know everything is fine for you! And in couple of weeks you will have a lovely baby!
How do you find it at work?? I am planning to work until 5 weeks before th birth ( I am 16 weeks at the moment)but in practical I am mot sure it would be that easy!
For the moment people can really see I am pregnant, except if they know me well because I am only put on 2 kilos so far and most of it are in my breast ( I have to buy bras regularly!)! I can now feel my energy coming back and I am not sick anymore !
Thursday I have my midwife appointment and I have quite a lot of questions to ask her! But I am sure they are used to it!!
Good luck for your 2 last weeks at work!
A bientot

I took my maternity leave 6 weeks before the due date. I didn't know if that was too early or not, but now that I know I'm stoping next week, I can't wait !! I want to sleep and relax.
5 weeks is totally faisable if your pregnancy went well.
Have a good appointment tomorrow and let us know the outcomes!

Bye

I am glad to know everything is Ok for you. If the baby has the head down, it is very unlikely to turn round now.

I don't understand how they can tell you you are 34 weeks instead of 32 just by measuring your belly. Surely they should calculate how many weeks you are with the date of your last periods, no?

Anyway, hope your legs get better and you can get some sleep before the birth, you will need to get some rest before the baby is born because after there is no time!

"When they"

mesure your belly, they have a special ruler with the number of weeks on it.
They have given me a due date with my last period (07/08), another one with my first scan (03/08), and after they monitor how your belly is growing.
I guess it is a way of checking how the baby is growing without having to do scans all the time.
I didn't ask myself if it was weird or not, they mesure it every month.
Speak to you soon

that they measure your belly every month, they did that to me aswell when I was pregnant, but they did not have the number of weeks on the ruler. I was just surprised they use it as a way of knowing how many weeks you are pregnant.

For your due date I think you should take the one of the first scan, I think it is the most reliable one.
Me too I had two: 22nd Nov according to my periods, 20th according to the scan ( I agreed with that one). In the end Elise arrived on the 26th! So I guess dates are just an indication.

bye for now,
Helene
