"Flump is here!!! birth story!!"

Well my little Flump is a gorgeous baby boy named Riley, born 11th Sept @ 2.30 weighing 8lb 2oz!!

Had a show on Tuesday night (as I posted) and started getting the crampy period pains throughout the night. Woke up at 9am and was confused as hell coz they were coming every 5-7 mins!! Rang MAU at 11:30am and was told I couldn't possibly be in labour, that quickly and having contracttions that close together so quick. In fact they weren't contractions they were pains of coz my cervix was softening???!!

By 3pm they were they same tkime apart but more intense and I was climbing the walls. OH rang back and said we coming and the midwife was liek fine, but be prepared to wait, we are busy and will probably end up sending you home. They made me wait for ages and finally at 4.45 examined me and she was like oh you are in labour and 3-4cm dilated, I will ring for a delivery suite! OH was going mental by now coz I was in so much pain with no pain relief at all.

They stuck me of gas and air and WOOOOOOOO!!!! How brill! Well I made it to 7.30 before begging for something stronger, had diamorphine and coped okay till it started to wear of at 10pm! Then I just totally lost it. I hit my pain threshold and was just talking utter gubberish. OH said he never saw anyone change so much. Mind some of the things I was saying we are bad laughing at now!! I was begging for Paul Daniels to saw me in half to take the pain away!

Got anoher shot of diamorphine then at 1am the mother of all contractions started, no breaks between them at all. I was 8cm and trying to push and kept getting told off! Well when I hit 10cm and she said OH MY GOD the pain. She was like you have push, are you getting a contraction and was like No I am okay and she was saying you are lying, its on the monitor you are, push! OH was saying push and I was screaming with the pain and shouting get it out get it out! OH was saying come on you can do it and I was like I can't, you do it for me!! LOL.

Well worst part was when head was half out and contraction faded away and midwife said okay hold it till the next one, first time I swore coz how mcuh pain! I was like you f**king joking, get it out, its stuck!

Anyway in a nutshell all that and 3 pushes and he came flying out! So quick!

So Riley is here, he is the more gorgeous dude in the world and although I can hardly walk and am sacred to go to the loo (LOL) I would def do it again (if only for the gas and air)!

I def fill people in on my comments througout the labour soon though. OH said you were soooo funny at times. He said I even midwife was laughing and saying she's in agony and we shouldn't laugh but some of the things you were saying you couldn't help it! Mind good job I have sense of humour xx

Lots of love

Caz and Riley 30 hours old xx

welcome to the world, hope you've enjoyed it so far.

Your story made my eyes water but I'm not able to identify if it was emotional, or remembering myself that head half out bit when they tell you to stop pushing and you're like why tf would I stop I know its there. ha ha

Just go to the toilet, it's only fear unless you've got loadsa stitches, in which case don't go ever.

It's gas n air. It gets you drunk. I just kept questioning young looking midwives credentials. She was laughing but I'm sure inside she was thinking 'shut up and shove your baby out'

Congratulations and you sound so happy. Happy for you

congratulations to all of you!!

a little tip, get a gravy boat and fill it with cool water then when you pee pour it down your 'area', it both dilutes and cools!! a little tip given to me by my midwife and it really helped.

So glad he arrived safely (and so nearly on time as well).

Can't wait to hear what else you said - think you must be the only person who's ever asked for Paul Daniels in the delivery room!
