.... Wearing Maternity clothes nearly 2 weeks ago (I am 20 weeks tomorrow). I am a size 10 and quite small but alot of my trousers started to dig in and feel uncomfortable.

I went to the Debenhams Sale and bought some Red Herring Jeans for £20 each and some combats which will last me the whole time plus I got some smart trousers for work.

Also got a lovely jersey dress from Next which I cannot wait to wear.

Love buying Maternity Clothes, I can let my tummy all hang out now and there are no zips and buttons - how cool is that!!

my trousers wouldn't fit me, but I didn't want to jinx anything, so I go some joggers to keep me going!
After my 12 week scan, we went out and got some new trousers and bras!
I've got most of my stuff from next! There is only H&M near me who sell maternity clothes, and I had brought a pair of trousers from Motherscare, but they came apart in the wash!
I think I may have some M&P vouchers for my birthday, so will get a few more bits then!!
Enjoy your growing bump, and take great care of yourself!!
Janice and 6 months today Lydia bump,

I didn't have to start wearing maternity clothes until around week 24.

The biggest trouble I had was finding something to wear to work. There are cut offs, combats and linens in abundance but I normally wear suits and was struggling to find something smart and suitable.

In the end I got just a few key pieces for work and washed the heck out of them.
H&M were great and I got a smart dress (just threw a normal suit jacket over it) and a couple of pairs of black trousers. Also got a shocking pink dress for £10 from there which became my party outfit.

Ebay was a godsend too. Got a pair of Dorothy Perkins maternity jeans for £10 (new) and a pair of Next Pin Stripe trousers for £5. Also got new bras from there.

As for tops, I haven't bought any specific maternity ones. I just went to Asda and bought some of their £5 efforts in different colours. I know that there is some gorgeous maternity wear out there but in some cases the prices are extortionate. Decided I was only going to wear them for a few months so no point - that's money better spent on bump!

I'm on leave now and so i'm getting my moneys worth out of jeans and casual tops. If i'm not going anywhere I put tracky bottoms and a t shirt on. Sloppy I know but only the Post Man sees me!

In a nutshell
H&M
Ebay (defo worth a look)
New Look

Forget Mothercare. Overpriced and still stuck in the 80s!

Good luck.

i had to start wearing maternity clothes from about 12 weeks as my normal clothes were way to uncomfy to wear
New Look have got quite a good selection and not too badly priced either, instead of the usual over inflated prices for maternity clothing that actually charge you normal prices...ie their jeans are the same price as their non maternity range, and they do 28-34 inch legs.

H&M also do quite a large range it's a little bit more expensive than New Look but still not as expensive as Mother care

you could also try
Dorothy Perkins
GAP
& Peacocks

if your normal clothes are painful to wear then start wearing maternity, there are no rules as to when you can start wearing them so go for it hun
Huge hugs

At 8 weeks i bought bigger jeans and had a few maternity bits. my work trousers were being held together with elastic. But i started wearing peoper maternity trousers at 16 weeks cos everything was so uncomfortable by that point.
I dont wear maternity tops yet as i can still wear what i already have.

I got most of my stuff from New Look. My local one (Redhill, Surrey) has a sale on all their maternity clothes at the moment as they are getting rid of it all to the bigger branch in Crawley.
Bloomin Marvellous have some really nice stuff in varying prices.
I wasnt overly impressed with Mothercare tho.

I found their clothes very over priced, and a lot of the stuff was quite old fashioned too, they had maybe one or two nice bits, but not for the price they were asking.
