Evening ladies,
hope you are all well ...
This afternoon I was cutting Harrys nails, he moved his hand and I caught his little finger in the clippers. Understandably he was screaming in pain and the tip of his finger was pouring with blood, it was like a nick you get when shaving, relatively small but bleeds for ages and rather painful.
I felt sooo bad that I had inflicted pain on my baby, he was really upset, it must have been quite sore bless him.
OH returned from B and Q to find us both sobbing, then to make matters 100 times worse he had a go at me for being careless ... (!!!!) ... Im always really careful but as he moved so quickly it was an unfortunate accident ( as if I didnt feel bad enough already - grrr )
Anybody else ever done anything similar, Ive felt sooooo guilty all day

My OH walked into conservatory door with my 2 wk old son and made him cry!

I've caught Ivo a bit with the clippers but not too badly.
OH is just grateful I do it as he's waaaaaay too clumsy and wouldn't go anywhere near with any sharp implements...

lots of times. But not the subsequent babies. Probably improve the longer you do it.
Dropped Jude when he was 9 weeks old putting him into one of those door frame swings (far far too young). I was hysterical and there was nothing wrong with him, he only cried for a minute but cos I had hurt him unnecessarily. Jude also rolled off the couch when I turned my back for split second. And a bed.
Charlie and Francis don't know how lucky they are. With all the practice I've had now, I've not hurted any of them yet.

yesterday ben was sat on my knee with his hands on the edge of the breaskfast bar kinda leaning towards it and his hands slipped apart and he slammed his head on the edge of the worktop. i felt so bad that i wasnt watching him properly, he was tired too so the screaming was all the worse

I did this with Alfie, and i have never been able to use clippers on my kids since, i felt so sooooooo bad blood everywhere and Alfie was screaming.
you OH was bang out of order for having a go at you, how dare he! im sure he is perfect and has never ever made a mistake or had an accident...grr!!
but trust me hun Harry will never remember it in fact i can almost guarentee you he has forgotten it already, you never will im afraid...it happened to me nearly 5 years ago and i still feel bad...but Harry will never hold it against you.

its themost awful thing iv done and my family are mocking me about it-they dont realise that im upset with myself! poor isaac was crying-plus he had a white top on so the blood loss looked worse! but dont worry, i plucked up the courage to do it yesterday whilst he was sleeping and he was fine! x
