Because I was dated past 8 weeks and we saw and heard baby's heartbeat on Friday, have been told today that they don't see the point in me having a dating scan at 12 weeks! I'm gutted about it, the 12 week scan with Kieran was better than the 20 week one!

Bit pointless but am so p'd off now!

said that I'd need to be scanned again in a few weeks and the EPAC said that was daft because we know that the pregnancy is viable now we've seen a heartbeat.
Sonographer said that baby was a bit too small to date accurately at this stage so didn't change my dates and said to re-book in a few weeks time.

I have my booking appointment on Wednesday afternoon, so I'm going to see what the midwife says. And some abnormalities can be seen on the 12 week one can't they? Just don't know if I can wait 12 weeks not knowing how my baby is doing and whether he or she is healthy! And at the same time, I can't afford a private scan, they're so expensive!

They should scan at 12 weeks to make sure that everything is fine (Bucks now do free Downs testing at 12 weeks, which they started doing a couple of days after we paid for the private one)!!!
I also agree that the 12 week scan pics are so much better than the 20 week scan, so much clearer ... I was really disapointed with our 20 week scan pice ... I hope that the 3/4D scan pics are so much better on Saturday!!!

youd think they could still give you one. I was beginning to think that was just me, because my 12wk scan was great really clear and i love looking at it even now looks like a real tiny baby, but ive had 2 more at 17 weeks and 19+3 and theyve been rubbish! i thought it might be the way the baby was lying or their crumby scan machine! ive got one pic its like a giant head then no body i was so disappointed. I hope yours is better i really do think their machine had something to do with it looks like its from the 1950s not like the swanky one they had when they did my 12wk scan

I really hope that it is better this time at 20 weeks, The pics I've got of Kieran at 20 weeks make him look like a large prawn! The 12 week ones you can actually see he is a baby.

I'm feeling ok thanks hun, bit twingy still but thinking thats just down to stretching etc. Thankfully no more bleeding (fingers crossed). Shane sent me to bed twice over weekend cos he thought I looked tired - bless!

Kieran has been a bit more clingy than usual, when we got back on Friday evening it was like he was clinging on thinking I'm not gonna let ya go again!!

ive still got everything crossed for you hunni, makes cooking difficult but im a woman i can manage hehe.

Sounds like Kieran missed his mummy bless his heart, they are so intuitive as well.
