Morning ladies,

I'm guessing the answer to this might be different for everyone but just wondered what you would describe early contractions to feel like?

Baby is due on Thursday (25th) and I'm sitting at home waiting for something (anything!) to happen! This morning and when waking up last night I've been feeling a bit uncomfortable but I think this might be down to my imagination (or trapped wind ha ha!) Bump has been tightening a lot and feeling a bit like trapped wind but doesnt seem to be peaking like I've read contractions do or have any regularity?

After an entire day of pain yesterday it seems to have stopped this morning. Looks like I have some more waiting to do yet before baby puts in an appearance but thanks for your replys.

"Tightenings and period pains...."

Hiya...

Mine felt like tightenings and mild period pains, then as the contractions got worse they were like strong painful period pains. But with my 1st baby I had no early contractions, my waters broke and they came strong, thick & fast and felt nothing like they did with my 2nd.

the week before i had Mia i had on/off period pains and my bump was rock hard! i also had really stronh braxton hicks, which eventually got more painful and turned into contractions!

Mine had no regularity to start with and would be anything from half an hour apart to 8 mins!

Sounds like bump is getting ready for the big arrivial!!! how excting! just relax hun and let your body get on with it, wont be long now!!!

Look forward to hearing the birth story!!! They always make me cry lol!

In the week before i gave birth i had on and off period aches...i thought they were nothing but then at the end of the week my waters broke!

I think the pains are different for everyone cos some people say the pain is in your lower back but with me it was always like low period pains

Good luck!!

as i recall, the first ones for me felt like period pains but not really bad ones. It was kinda like a twinge every 15minutes, its not really painful, just uncomfortable.
Good luck! xx
