Hi all
As some of you may have read before Im 6 weeks pregnant and due in November. Its my first child and Im over the moon!
On Tuesday night I started having the worst period like cramps, so much so that it got to the stage where I couldnt stand up straight. I had been having a brown discharge all day and so my hubby took me to A&E.
All my obs were ok- my temp, blood sugar levels etc and they got me in for a scan yesterday morning. The pregnancy is in the right place so they ruled out an ectopic pregnancy, but said they thought I was less than six weeks because of the size if the sac and it was too early to check for a heartbeat. They said it could be a threatened miscarraige which did have me in shock.
I had slight cramping lastnight but feel fine today, apart from my discharge which is thin and watery and a really dirty grey/brown colour! (Sorry! *blush*)
My mum said itl just be my body getting rid of what it can, and I still have my sore boobs and sickness!
Im due for another scan next Friday, and in the meantime Im taking it easy and have given myself a few days off work.
Anyway to cut a long story short- has anybody had a similar experience? Am I panicking over something and nothing? I hope so anyway but itl be nice to hear from others.

Hi Rachel
I have just read about your experience in your 6th week of pregnancy and I am in a simular situation. I am believed to be 5 weeks pregnant but have been experiencing at first a slight red bleed (which I assumed was the start of my period) but it then turned to a brownish discharge exactly how you explained it. I took a pregancy test which confirmed I am pregnant but I was worried about the on going brown discharge so I arranged a scan. The doctor told me after scanning me that I am not 5 weeks pregnant am am a lot less as the sac is not the size it should be at 5 weeks, only thing is the only time I could have conceived was 5 weeks ago no later. He said that there is a bleed in the sac, only a small amount and sent me for some blood tests to confirm if the pregnancy has ended or not as the scan is unable to detect it. He also suggested a possible ectopic pregnancy, so therefore I am left wondering what the hell is going on!!! Your experience happened a few months ago and I would be grateful if you could establish the outcome. Thanks
Clare

Hi Just found out i'm 5 weeks pregnant with second child got a doctors appointment next week. In my last pregnancy at 6 weeks I had heavy bleeding(red with clots), cramps back pain etc. Had to go to A&E. Was checked over and had a scan. Ruled out an eptopic but said there was a ruptured in the amniotic sac and would probably end in a miscarriage. Was told to come back in a couple of days to have another scan. Carried on bleeding still had pregnancy symptoms, morning sickness etc. Went back had scan and said everything was fine. Didn't really give me an answer as to why I was bleeding why there was no rupture anymore. It still baffles me and my husband to this day. I'm sure you'll be fine at your scan! Ive heard lots of people have bleeding and everything end up to be fine.

Being pregnant is a state that re-news all that we are. It is to be loved, cherished, endured, put up with, oooh I wish it was done...usually in that order. You must always remember that nature takes its own course. I hope the best for you, but it may take a couple of tries to get nature to agree. The sweetest part of life is making ourselves over again in the form that comes from within. Jennifer.

Hi I also thought I was 6 weeks and a few days ago got terrible period like cramps and went to the doctor who and a look with an internal camera and said everything was fine although he thinks i am only 4 weeks. He said its completly normal to feel these cramps and not to worry. I hav't had a discharge apart from clear but I have read alot that it is normal to have that as long as its not bright red. Try to relax and I wish you all the luck. Keep in touch as i think were due around the same time. my last period was about 28th jan when was yours.

Dont worry, i found out i was pregnant around when i was around 5 weeks gone, the next day I started with a brown discharge which lasted about 3 or 4 days, doctor also told me it was a threatened miscarriage and told me to rest. The discharge stopped! and i hoped the baby was ok but they wouldnt scan me until i was 12 weeks so i was s worried, but there was a lovely little jelly baby there and now im 17 weeks, so try not to worry! x x x
