You should have your first blood test and scan between 12 to 15 weeks.

i hope i will have a scan before 15 weeks. the gp told me that it was around the 11 weeks. i already asked to have a blood test cause i was very worry about the toxoplasmose and so the nurse did it for the rubeola as well.
Are you pregnant too? How many weeks? Where are you going to give bitrh?

Hi there
It is counted as the first day of your last period not ovulation.
The scan you are talking about, do you mean the normal routine blood tests and scans or the nuchal scan?

the normal routine blood test and scan. For the blood test i asked to have one the last week cause i was worry but for the scan, i don't mind to wait for the 11 weeks because i heard that before, it is very difficult to see something and almost of the time, women worry to much because of it. Are you pregnant too ? Living in London

Hi there
Yes, i am 14 weeks pregnant. I actually had a blood test when my midwife came round at about 6 1/2 weeks. My scan was at 10 + 1. I thought I was 11 + 1 but my dates were wrong. This was because although it was 11+1 since my last period, I had just had IVF treatment the month before which failed. I started spotting about 3 weeks after and just assumed this was my period but apparently that was around the time of implantation. We had been trying for 2 1/2 years to conceive but the consultant at the hospital found nothing wrong with either of us so when I fell pregnant after the IVF failed I was really shocked but absolutely elated.
My next scan is at 20 weeks. I went for a nuchal fold scan at 11 weeks and everything was fine. I heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time which was so exciting.

"Good news" Posted by charlotte841 15 February at 17:57
i am very glad for you, i can imagine the stress and then the happyness you have felt. I think i will give a call to my GP because if you say that you met the midwife at 6 1/2 weeks, you probably have received a letter announcing that or i have receive nothing. Did you? Where are you going to give birth? How are you feeling? you are not too sick? Do you sleep well ? because i am only at 6+3 and i notice that i don't really sleep well, i do nightmare but, a part of that, i am fine.

"Don't worry" Posted by therapynow 16 February at 17:09
Hi. I went to see my doctor after I did a pregnancy test which was positive. The doctor asked for a urine sample and confirmed my pregnancy. He then said he would get in touch with the midwife and ask her to call me which she did a few days later.
I want to give birth at hospital but in a birthing pool. I have felt nauseas a few times but only been sick once (on new years eve). Besides that I had felt tired and have had bad headaches but no other symptoms.
I am lucky in that I have always slept well. Do you sleep on your side?
Have you been to your GP - what have they said?

"No i didn't" Posted by charlotte841 16 February at 17:52
cause i couldn't but definitely tonight i am going to go. My GP, a woman checked me when i went to see her on the 18th of January but since this time, i heard nothing from anybody!!
A part of that, i am sleeping on my side yes and yesterday night, just before going to bed i took a bath, warm and lightly colder just at the end and i slept like a baby so maybe, i will have to do that more often. Otherwise, i am eating normally, i don't feel sick at all and i already start to have a little belly, which is funny cause i am just at more than 6 weeks of pregnancy!!
How did the baby reacted when he arrived in the middle of the water? How long did you stay at the hospital?
I will go to Kingston, i already went to see the maternity department and it seemed ok.
