I am new at all of this. I am 20 years old and on my first baby, several people I work with are also pregnant, and my manager has twins, I feel that my bump is huge right now and I am only 15 weeks. I am scared because she says that I am as big as she was when she was this far along, and I look at people at work and they aren't that big. I wont have my first ultrasound for another 3 weeks and I'm scared I could be pregnant with twins, can someone without twins running in their family have a risk at having twins?

I WOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT. I AM A TWIN ALSO AND I GOT SO BIG WITH MY SON IN THE FIRST FEW MONTHS THAT I QUESTIONED IF I WAS ALSO WITH TWINS, BUT TURNS OUT IT WAS JUST MY FIRST CHILD AND SOME PEOPLE GAIN ALOT AT FIRST AND SOME DONT. SOME GAIN ALOT IN THE LATTER PREGNANCY. I AM NOW PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND SON AND I AM NOT AS BIG AS I WAS WITH MY FIRST. DONT STRESS TOO MUCH. YOU WILL FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH. LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS, IF IT IS 2 THEN YOU CAN GET IT OVER WITH AT ONCE INSTEAD OF DOING IT AGAIN LIKE ME. 9 MONTHS IS SOOOOOO LONG. GOOD LUCK

"Dont worry"

obviously you dont have to have twins in the family to have them. but on the other hand, you dont have to worry about your size either. everyone is different. my cousin is 5 months pregnant, and been the same size for the last 2!! she looks as though she is full term already, and is only having one. i was the same with my daughters, i was really big, and with my son i was tiny. there is no right or wrong size in pregnancy. it may be the case, you have a lot of fluid, but take it easy. stress isnt good for you or the baby. if it is really getting to you, phone your midwife, or gp. but please dont fret. good luck sweetheart. keep me posted. xxxx
