| Thread started by: | "No period?" Posted by inqui1 26 March at 23:04
My normal cycle is 32 days, but my current cycle has been 45 days with no period in sight. We're trying desperately for a baby, but all the pregnancy tests we've done in the last few days have come up negative! If I felt sick at all it might give me some encouragement, but I don't... any ideas? Are we just jumping the gun??

no i dont thin you are. i think you may be too early on for the test to be positive. i cant obviously be certain, but thats my opinion. if i wer you id take a urine sample to your gp. i think it usually takes afew days to get the result. you are probably aware about the hcg hormone. this rises in pregnany, and its this that is tested for in the tests. i think some may need quite high levels before detecting it???? i am no expert, so down the doctors with a sample mrs. best of luck keep me posted. xxxxxxxxxx

Really, so even after 14 days late you still had neg result. Im on 33 day cycle always regular, today is day 41 and i tested this morning neg, so annoying. boobs hurt and feel cramps like im going to comeon, how long can it really take for HCG. Ive had a virus and slight stress at work can this delay my period. We have been trying for 9 months !!!!

Hi, Just out of interest, do you chart?? I think if you were pregnant, you would definately have got a positive result by now. There is a very small minority of women who never get a positive HPT but do get a positive blood test.....just something to take into consideration!! The only other thing I can think of is that you possibly had an annovulatory cycle (meaning you didnt ovulate) as this can quite often cause an extended cycle.
I hope you get answers soon! Good Luck!
Hayley xx
