I recently just got a job and one of the requiremens was to have a 2-step tb test (anyone in the health field knows what this is) and although my doctor said it was okay the nurse i spoke with freaked me out by saying "ohhhh. most pregnant women refuse the test" but in a very discouraging way... I have not told my new job that I am pregnant because I need to get the health benefits first... has anyone out there ever gotten a TB test while pregnant?? I had my fist one done and am very nervous!!! Any response would be nice!! Thanks!

hiya im almost sure that this test is to just to see whether you are carrying tb, its not actually a vaccine, in which case it would be totally fine and nothing to worry about. also i think the tb vaccine is a "dead" vaccine which means that they are not actually giving you the disease as with some vaccines, where they give u a minute dosage of a disease in order for your body to learn how to fight it off.
if your really worried go and see your gp.
im a surgical practitioner so im more familiar with surgical rather than medical procedures but im sure thats right what ive said.
congratulations on the pregnancy aswell x
