Hello girls,
I am now 18 weeks pregnant and in the last 3 day I have been vomiting every time I eat.... I tried evrything! sweet / sour food,cool/ warm etc...but nothing. Yesterday I saw a nurse ( my Gp was in a meeting) and she told me I couldn't take anything against vomiting. I have been sick between 8 and 12 weeks but since I was fine ( except when I eat fish...). Do some of you got some MIRACLES????? or tips?????? or been advising some medecines. Thanks
Emilie

I think I used to have them for car sickness when I was a child, how great! i used to drink rice water for morning sickness, but I never really suffered that badly. Boil some rice and try sipping the water, or eating a little plain rice if you can manage it.

I hope you aren't still feeling sick, but just in case...
I was quite sick from about 6 weeks until 8 weeks, and even in that time thought, my god, I can't cope with this all the way up to 12 weeks.
Then my acupuncturist gave me a magnet to wear on a pressure point on my left wrist. I take it off each night and stick it back on the next morning with a plaster. Haven't felt sick since. I'm now 11 weeks, and left it off the other day, just to see how I felt, but started feeling queasy again, put it back on and voila!
Don't know how it works, maybe it's all in the mind, but since it works, I really don't care!
I'm not sure how you would get hold of one, but I think some people buy wristbands containing magnets to combat travel sickness.
Good luck anyway,
Becky

I'm happy they found out why you were vomiting...I sure hope you feel better! Congratulations on your new baby.
If you still find yourself getting sick, something that I did when I was pregnant was I never let myself get really hungry, and I tried not to get over-tired. Those two things would make me really sick to my stomach. I found that if I kept a supply of crackers near by it would really help to settle my tummy when I was pregnant. Good luck to you!

It must be awful for you. I remember that i couldnt eat anything for a while me too, just the smell of the food made me sick but then, i read somewhere that if we dont feel like eating whatever food, just have a mash potatoes with a slice of ham, like babies. They say that it can help the stomac for a while before he gets ready again for normal food.
What you can try as well is to eat little by little like if you were more in advance in your pregnancy, where they advice to have 6 small meals instead of 3.
Drink a lot and maybe try to eat at some time during the day some prunes, apricots, raisins, or some almonds just to give you a bit of energy.
Good luck and hope you will feel much better soon, Charlotte

Hi! Thanks for the advise! This morning I had really bad stomac cramps like contractions + vomiting so the midwife send me to labour ward and they find out I was doing a urine infection... My back was really sord as well. I didn't know urine infection can create vomiting. The midwife ( who was excellent) told me to take it really seriously because urine infection can create labour ... So now I am off work again ( i went this morning for only 2 hours.... but it is the 1st time ii am off sick since the beginning of the pregnancy) and have to take antibiotics for a week. I am glad they find what it was! and I had an other scan! Baby is big now! and everything is ok for it. I hope with your boyfriend is getting better and he is helping you.
Speak to you later Emilie

well despite that you are home sick with an urine infection, its better to know why you were vomitting so much! A colleague at work who was pregnant last year left work thinking that she was in labour, she was near her maternity leave, but in fact, it was just an urine infection, she couldnt believe how painfull it was! so, relax, dring a lot, motstly with this weather and with the antibiotics you are taking.
It should have been very nice to see your baby, do you know the sex finally ?
Otherwise, things are better in my little life, i am a bit more helped but i know for sure that my man is not a domestic man and then, the little bit he does means a lot for him !!
