"So am i ???????" Posted by slb1987 15 August at 20:16
I have been on the pill for 5 years and I have recently come of the pill in May. I had a period 2 weeks later for a week. Now its half way through August and I have been spotting brown for 2 weeks. I have done a pregnancy test and it came up negative. Could I be pregnant? I need to know as well?

They say sometimes that coming off the pill can be a reason why you dont get your period.. you may just have spotting for some time. Wait till next month and see what happens and ONT GET DOWN!!! Thats NEVE gonna help the situation!! Smile hun, your on your way to become a mommy soon!!! Make this a happy experience!

Hi, I was on Microgynon 30 for nearly 11 years. When i stopped taking it, i stopped at the end of a pack - did you do that also? I had a my next period 36 days after that and then again about 31 days after but then i fell pregnant - so i've been really lucky. Try not to worry everybody is different and some peoples bodies take longer than others to get back into a normal routine of having periods again. I wouldnt worry just yet, but if still no sign in the next month or so maybe go to talk to doctor. I didnt have any spotting just a heavier than usual period, and i dont wanna get your hopes up but i did have spotting at implantation when i fell pregnant....this wasnt like red blood...more like pinky/browny discharge. ( sorry hope you're not eating?! )Was yours anything similar? A pregnancy test may not show positve yet, so my advice is to test again in a week and if still negative pregnancy result, then just try to be patient, the more you worry and stress the longer it will take for your period to appear! Let me know how you go! Good luck.

thanks for replying to my message. it's a bit confusing but i had lost my pills and so started the next pack 2 weeks after i had had my period, but then we decided to try for a baby so i only took the next 2 weeks on the new pack (which worked out to be one month). With the spotting i have it again and it's as you described your's, pinky/brownish colour, no blood red! I'll take another test at the end of the week like you said, that'll then be just over a week since the last one.

I came off the pill after being on it for 4 years and didn't have a natural period for about 5 months! We weren't trying for a baby so I wasn't that worried. Spoke to my GP and said that its quite common. Don't think I had any spotting though. I'd wait a week or so and see your doctor.

"Pregnant after taking pill." Posted by crazycat77 29 March at 15:07
Hi,
I was on the same pill as you were for over 11 years. I first got pregnant last Sept after 18 months of trying after stopping the pill, unfortunately I miscarried & I'm now 9 weeks pregnant again thank god. I can't remember having spotting, only a few very heavy painful periods which soon settled down. I think you have just got to let your body adjust, remember you have not had a proper period since before taking the pill & I think it depends when you stopped taking it ie: if you stopped halfway through your pill pack or never began your next one. Ask your Doctor if your unsure, but be patient it will happen when the time is right & when your body is ready. Good luck xxxx

hi im not entirely sure, to be honest, i was on the same pill as you for three years, but i fell pregnant whilst on it, lol you have been on it for a very long time, and so it will probably take your body a while to re adjust. if you think you are pregnant, you could be very early on, and the tests arent picking up the hcg levels yet, just a thought. if you are worried, contact your gp, or take a urine sample down, and ask them t do a pt for you. it usually takes about 3 days for the results. hope his helps. good luck

Thanks for your advice so far! I'm gonna take another test at the end of the week and if nothing's happened by then i'll go see my dr next week and have a chat with him! it's like you say, i've been on the pill for ages and it's gonna take me a while to adjust! Feeling bit better now but there's still that feeling of hope lingering!

"I'm going through the same thing...." Posted by mrsharris1 6 July at 17:49
Hiya,
My last pill was 17th June as me and my husband are trying for a baby. I am on day 17 of my cycle today and have had some brown discharge, the same thing happened on day 15 and on day 16 (yesterday) I had a stitch like pain in my side. Think it must be my body getting back to normal but thought I'd get in touch to see what happened with you.

hi, i need to come off the pill as i have sadly just broken up with my boyfriend...to quote miranda from sex & the city, "i don't need a daily reminder that i'm not having sex!" hehe. ok, anyway so is it safe to just finish off my current pack of 21 pills and then not start a new pack? any advice would be much appreciated. thanks!
