"Foetus size?"
Posted by rachelsaka 1 April  at  15:25

Hello All

Can anybody tell me how big the foetus should be by the 8 week mark?

At exactly 8 weeks my baby measures 12.5mm but according to a website I looked at, by the end of 8 weeks it should measure 5cm (50mm).

Can a foetus grow so long in a week?!

Am I worrying over nothing?!

Rachel xx

about 1.6 inches or 1.6 centimetres. It can vary in different books/websites. Also everybody is different. My baby was just over 5 centimetres at my 12 week scan x

I am also 8 weeks and have just checked my "pregnancy bible" at 8 weeks the foetus should be about 2cm - but in another of my mags it says about the size of a grape...both similar sizes.

Try not to worry - take care
