"Hiya everyone... i'm in shock!! "

Hiya,

I just needed to tell the world... I AM PREGNANT... I have posting messages on the forums for months now, we've been trying for almost 6 months but this morning I had a very funny feeling... took a test and it was positive!!

Apart from the shock and total happiness I am now a little bit worried, my period is not even due until Wednesday so I got a postive result quite early on and worried in case this is bad... I'm sure its just the thought of being pregnant has started the crazy worrying...

Anyway thats my news and I am very happy but still very very shocked... so if any one wants to chat I will be on the net most of the time (researching things, getting paranoid, dreaming about things to buy etc!!!)

Thanks for listening and... YEAHHHHHHH!!!

Congratulations, I remember how excited I got when I found out, its the most amazing feeling. I didnt know if I should laugh or cry or both.

As for the early test I think it will probably be right, my Doctor told me the over the counter tests are more reliable than the ones the hospital offer. You may have to wait for a little while until you get it officially confirmed cos the tests arent as sensitive.

But anyway well done and congratulations again. I bet you cant stop smiling x

Dont panic with the test being early... i done the same with my 2 daughters ( 5 & 2 years ago ) i wasnt even late i just "knew"
This pregancy the test was donr on my period date ( not late just knew) and only a faint lne came up... so half a dozen tests later.... i got the result of which i already knew....

Thers loads of sites to look at...

Relax and congratulations to you both....

p.s be warned that all us mums-to-be are very strange in the first few months, you will find yourself checking yourself everytime you go to the toilet and panic everytime you have a little pain !

( i posted on here earlier as thought i was the only one parinoid, but everyone who has posted back feels the same ) so thought id warn you in advance !

Hiya everyone,

Thanks so much for all your congratulations... to be honest it still hasnt sunk in one bit, I have just back from the docs and although she said my Clear Blue Digital test was enough for her she still wants me to take a sample in the morning just for my notes... I am a bit confused and overwhelmed as she has already booked my appointment with the midwife and given me my notes to fill in... surely this is all a it early... I mean apart from the boobs that feel red hot and the size of my head..and the continuously feeling like I'm gonna decorate my shoes I just dont feel pregnant!!

When is it gonna sink in??? The other thing I was worried about is because the appointment has come so quickly I am gonna have to tell my work about it and I really didnt want to do that yet... see I work in a school and am currently on half term...my appointment is the tuesday we get back so I am gonna have to give a bloody good reason why I'm taking time off so soon after getting back from the holidays...

How was it for you letting your employer now? and what should I expect from this first visit to my midwife????

Sorry for the epic but I have so many questions and random stuff going on in my head at the mo, I need to let it out!!

Thanks
Aimee xxx

PS...how old were you when you first found out, I am 24 and have been planning for 5 months but now its happened I suddenly feel like I'm just playing at grown ups!!! AARGGGHH PREGNANCY MAKES YOU DOUBT EVERYTHING!!!!

I'm 31 and my 1st baby is due 9th November. I had my 1st scan today, although not on the NHS because I couldn't get an early one.
I had my 1st midwife appt at 5 wks and like you didn't want to tell my boss as I lost a baby at 4-5 wks last year but he was great and now he keeps making sure I'm ok, won't let me lift anything, or do too much.
Let them know as soon as possible, I'm sure they'll be fine. Just ask them to keep it to themselves if you don't want anyone else to know just yet.
