"First scan, first baby"

Had to tell someone, had my first scan today. By my dates I thought I was nearly 9 weeks but my midwife said she thought I seemed a bit bigger. I couldn't get an early scan on the NHS so my dad paid for a private one for me £70. Well worth the money. I got 4 pictures of "pebbles" who has a healthy heart rate of 170 and is only the size of a kidney bean but very healthy.
I'm so relieved everything is OK. I'd recommend going private for an early scan to anyone if they can afford it. It's put my mind at rest. When I heard the heartbeat I thought I was going to cry.....

I am also pregnant with my first baby and i went to the Naval hospital to have it done, since my medicare is free being in the military. The Doc said it was sleeping, but i don't know how she could tell. . It had a heart beat of 180 and it was so loud and strong. I was so happy to hear it. I am a US Marine and I cried on the table when i saw my baby all curled up in a ball knowing it was healthy. It is a great feeling isn ...

Congratulations, i can't wait until i have my first scan i am only about 4 weeks so i worry like mad especially as it is my first baby. I won't have a scan until next month or even later so i might ask to go private for one just so i know my baby is safe...

That's why I did it. It means so much to see your baby on that screen, to see it's heart beating and to hear the doctor say "Your baby is very healthy, exactly positioned where it should be and doing very well"

Hello

Does anybody know how to arrange a private scan? I had my scan early at 7 weeks due to cramping and bleeding, and am not due another scan until week 20.

I live in Bradford- W.Yorks so if anybody could give me some advice Id be really grateful!
