Hi, my name is Carol and i have been taking the pill for around 7 years now. I have recently stopped taking the pill (3 months now) because my husband and i have decided that we want to have a baby. However, is it true that we have to wait for 6 months after stopping the pill to try to have a baby?

Hi Carol. I havent heard you have to wait 6 months, although my doctor said it's good to wait 2-3 months for your lining to thicken up, so it's strong enough to carry the baby. I came off the pill after 10 years in September though and fell pregnant after two months and both me and baby are doing well. ( In 17th week now.) If you've been off the pill for 3 months and if you're both ready then i'd say get up those stairs and start trying now!!!!! Good luck x

Hi, I came of the pill last June after 4yrs of taking it. I fell pregnant in October, some people do fall quicker but some people take atleast a year. It all depends on the individual. Its just a waiting game. All i can say is go for it and good luck im sure it will happen soon.

Hi just to let you know I was taking the pill for 11 years and stopped 3 months before my wedding and started trying for a baby straight after the wedding and got pregnant that 1st month and i'm now 8 weeks so go for it. I though it would take some time too but i fell within the 1st month.
