Hi.
The main thing is a fully formed and healthy baby, although sometimes we do have a preference whether we admit or it keep it to ourselves!
If i was in your situation i think i would find out the gender, because if it is a boy at least your partner will have some time to get used to the idea and to bond with him before he's here.
At the end of the day it's the mans sperm that decides whether it's going to be a boy or girl, so dont you go feeling guilty if it turns out to be a boy!
Good luck!

"Finding out the gender"

Hi

I'm 16 wks and due my next scan in 3-4 wks, when I should hopefully be able to find out if the baby's a boy or a girl. I honestly don't mind either way - but the problem is, my partner REALLY wants a girl, even to the point where I said I thought it was a boy and he said "I hope not"!! I'm really worried now, and obviously there's nothing I can do. I know he wouldn't leave me, but I just worry that he won't bond with a boy and it will cause tension.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reassurance! I'm probably worrying about nothing, but my hormones seem to be raging at the moment! I will be happy with a healthy baby, but I'm so convinced it's a boy and he'll be disappointed. I keep reminding him it was his 'contribution' that made the decision! lol

Blimey, as if it isn't hard enough. Bloody men.
"Hello again!"

Hi again.
Think we've spoken a few times before - i recognise your name. Im due Sept, think we may be due around the same time?!
I have my scan on Friday 27th.
I have a son who is 11 and my partner also has 2 sons from a previous relationship and although neither of us will admit it i think we're both thinking a girl would be nice! Although my 11 year old secretly would prefer a brother i think!
So we'll probably find out the gender of our baby at our next scan.
More than anything though i just wish for our baby to be fully formed and healthy whatever the sex.
Let me know how you're scan goes x

Yeah I recognise your name too - didn't you get moved forward to the 11th on your last scan?

Good luck for 27th x
"Good luck for your scan too."

You have a good memory! Yeah my due date did change at the scan. Not sure how because the 1st day of my last period was definately the 8th Dec which would make me due Sept 14th, im guessing they look at the size of the baby, im now due 9th Sept.
Been nice talking to you again. I'll let you know how my next scan goes and good luck to you for yours too x
