Hi, I'm 11 weeks pregnant and have just been sent an appointment in 3 weeks time with a consultant. I was told at my 8 week appointment with the midwife that this would probably happen as i am overweight and have a higher BMI (big boned i like to call it!).

Has this happened to anyone else? What happens during this appointment? Will it just be lots of talking about healthy eating or will i have medical tests and such like?

I'm not sure if this is fairly common or if i am more huge than i thought i was!!!

Panicking now and feeling really guilty about my addiction to junk food!

help!

Hi, im 27 weeks pregnant and was told i was overweight, is not hard to be when your only 4ft 10 ins. I remeber having my weight and height done but thought this was more because i am small.
However in a week i have got to go and have a diabetes test has part of routine due to it been in the family and also my weight. You may have one too at 28 weeks.
I see a consultant at the hospital and its just to check that baby is not getting too big, not me really.

I dont see myself has massively big, i have always classed myself as curvy and men seem to like it so cant be all that bad (shh dont tell my fiance) lol. Put it one way i have bigger bones than kylie Minogue. he he he.

It does make you feel really fat, i went through a bad patch during my 20-24 weeks that i was fat and not carrying a bump but now i love my every day growing bump...so dont feel guilty about been a bigger mum than what is required cuz if we were all the same weight these consultants would be out of a job.

Hope this helps.... enjoy your pregnancy and all the best.... mwwaaah xx
