Hi,
My partner and i have been trying to conceive since oct06. Needless to say, it still hasnt happened. My partner is booked in for a sperm count next week and we are really worried that it will come back with a problem. I was on the pill for 11 years.
Should i be worrying at this stage?
Anyone going through he same thing? Any advice would be great.
Thanks Gemma

Hi Gemma
WE tried for nearly 7 months and it was dreadful everytime my period came. You are so careful about what you eat and drink and dates and times etc that you forget why you are doing it - for the two of you.
We finally conceived on a holiday to Turkey where we threw caution to the wind - ate what we wanted, drank ourselves silly and bonked when we felt like it during the siesta!! And then along came Sophie.....
I think the stress of it all can be hard but also you need to remember that it is normal for it to take time to hit the jackpot. Not one of my 8 antenatal girlfriends fell after 3 months of trying and some after two years. Give it till September and book an appointment with your doctors (they generally wont do anything till a year anyway). Book a holiday and start enjoying sex again. oh and remember - only do it every other day during the dates you are most likely to conceive and you can weaken the sperm otherwise.
Hope this helps chin up

Hi,
My hubby and I have been trying since September 2006. It is hard not to worry, especially when my sister fell pregnant at the first attempt ... and my two best friends after three months.
I hate the up/down emotional rollercoaster of each month .... it's like you become obsesed with every single change in your body .... hoping that this time you'll be lucky.
Hubby and I have booked a holiday in May .... to see if relaxing and chilling might help.
Good luck for you guys too ... fingers crossed it happens soon.

Hi,
My hubbie and I got married October 2006, and am also now living in another country for a while until the work contracts are finished.
Since I arrived in December, we have not really been trying, but we arent exactely "safe". We have talked about having a baby on many ocasions and both of us would be thrilled.
Everyone keeps on telling me not to try, but to just let it happen when it happens. I will be 27 next month and want to be pregnant this year.
Monday my hubbie had a afternoon nap, when he woke up he told me completely serious that there is a bun in the oven, that he has had 2 dreams already and that its going to be a girl, I off course argue with him but he is so sure off himself.
I am nauseous in the mornings, early afternoons and late evenings. I have terrible heartburn. My breasts are overly sensitive and I am a bit emotional too, also having light cramps in my upper and lower abdomen.
I am supposed to get my period next week Friday, so this could all just be pms symptoms, but I have never suffered from nausea before, my breats also became swolen and sensitive much sooner than usually.
I think I might be obsessed with becoming or being pregnant, I watch every physical change like a hawk and keep a calender with my cycle history.
I agree with you, it is deffinetaly like an emotional rollercoaster each month, I am now so scared to be even a little bit hopeful or excited just to be dissapointed next week.
Why is my husband so certain that I am pregnant, aren't I the one that's supposed to have the 6th sense? lol.
Good luck!!
Chantel

You can test with a pregnancy test called Clear Blue. You can test upto 4 days before your period is due.
Good Luck x

Hi, After reading your story im convinced your expecting. You mention sore breasts & light cramps could be pms ... but with your period not due until next friday it seems a bit early for that! Also feeling emotional, bursts of nausea & heartburn are all common ealry pregnany symptons.... I would wait another week or so to see if your period comes, this will be the BIG giveaway, if you do take a test beforehand the result come be negative due to low pregnancy hormone detected. Even the most sensitive of tests can show neg if taken too early. Then next weekend if no period & a negitive test, wait a few more days & Test again, as the hormone double everyday.
I reckon your husband is right.... Good luck. x
