There are a few signs of pregnancy such as more urination than normal, strange dreams, and a late period.

My period was strange though. Quite heavy but it is a different color than usual. Can this be the start of pregnancy or is it too soon to tell?

I was under a lot of stress for a few days . Could this have been the cause of the strangeness?

Not yet... It's just a day after the strange period and it slowed down around the third day.It should be my fourth day right now.
