Isn ... horrible. I started feeling sick at 5 weeks and like you was retching over the loo but nothing coming out! I felt constantly sick throughout the day. Now i'm 9 weeks and I am actually being sick but once i've been sick i feel ok. I find if I haven't eaten for awhile I start feeling bad again. I think it's important to keep your blood sugar levels up. Been taking vitamin B6 which seems to help. Good Luck.x

Hi

I had this from week 6 to week 13/14 - it got to the point where I almost risked not rushing to the loo cause I got so fed up of retching and nothing happening! (Never did risk it though!) I'm now 18 weeks and feeling really quite good, so fingers crossed it will wear off - the ginger/flat cola suggestions below are really good, I also found sucking a polo mint to be very helpful.

"It's normal!!"

hi there,
what you are going through, unfortunately is quite normal.

some people are sick, while others either feel sick constantly, or in your case, retch, without being sick.

sometimes this is worse, as at least being sick, can make you feel better.

also, it dosen't have to just be in the morning. this can happen through out the day.

try to eat little and often. having three big meals a day can sometimes make you feel worse.
i used to eat cold things, like fruit, of yogurts. i felt this was better than hot meals. everyone is different though.

also try drinking ginger ale, or eating ginger biscuits, the ginger can be good in reducing the sickness feeling.

also when drinking, just sip it, don't take a full glass at the one time. flat cola can also be good.

hope this helps, and hope you feel better soon.

take care

Hi, I haven't been sick yet, however I am retching all the time! Doc has diagnosed me with Hyperemesis - which is servere morning sickness even tho I haven't been sick yet! I am incredibly nauseus all the time, keep getting hot spells go over my head and hugging a bucket retching. Apparently I have another 6 weeks of this to look forward to! She has signed me off work, am just about to make the call to work to tell them the situation. This sucks!
