Clomid advice

Hi,

I've just taken my first cycle of clomid - last period was 29th December and my cycle is any where between 32-45 days. For the last week I've been really tired - sore boobs, emotional, and really nauseus, I'm just wondering if anyone else had this on their first cycle - I'm guessing it's far to early to be having any pregnancy symptoms so assume it's just a huge hormone surge caused by the tablets.... I've just sent off for some test strips but obvioulsy don't really know when to test as my cycle is so up in the air....

Not quite sure what I'm asking but just hoped someone can empathise....

Clomid !! yippppeeeeee

Hi all

JUst wanted to let you all know that CLOMID does defo work. Ive been trying to concieve for 24 months and finally plucked up the courage to go and see my doctor, after 6 months of test inlcuding a laproscomy, they found out that I had 1 blocked tube, endem and the other tube waste working correctly !!

My gyno was blunt and told me I had less than 5% of ever conveiving, can you imagine how gutted I was so I was determined to prove them wrong !! I did loads of research on the internet - I had to be SO persistent witht he doctor and gyno and it was me who was insisted I had clomid, I also eventually insisited with my gyno that I went ont he IVF waiting list. Ive got a very good friend that used to be a midwife and she was the one who made me to so strong as she was told she would never have children for various reasons and through her determination she now has 2 beauties !!

Anyhow to cut a long story short, I was on Clomid for 1 CYCLE>>>>YES 1 CYCLE and Ive just found out Im pregnant., I carnt believe it ...fingers crossed for me but please please please be positive, I had tears most months when I come on for the last 12 months but I promise you there is hope so I can only say good things about CLOMID, I was sceptical too !!

Make sure your MAKE your doctor give it to you and up the dosage too...

Good luck all xx

Just started on clomid

Hi, I can emphatie with what you're going through. I've just concluded my first circle of Clomid, no ovulation because I experienced the same symptoms too so I knew I wasn't pregnant. They were the usual PMS symptoms I have a week before my period so I'm not even sure if my ovaries reacted at all to the Clomid. The doc is going to start me on a double dosage this month. Keeping my fingers crossed! Hope things work out well for you. Hang in there,

Im the same

Hi Pooky,

Im on my first course of clomid and i experienced the same symptoms.
Ive just had a 2nd bleed so started a 2nd course of clomid... hopefully this time it will work otherwise I will have to go back and see the consultant

Clomid advice

Hi, I am also 35 and dont have any children. My Dr has just prescribed Clomid - 50mg and he also didnt mention anything about scans, just for me to have a blood test after 3 months of taking Clomid. I am concerned as my sister had to take Clomid and she had regular scans. Should I ask my Dr about the scans as I am abit cautious.

Your advice would be appreciated.

Hi

I definately empathise with you!

Have also started taking chlomid for first time and experienced same things, had sore boobs, felt sick and dizzy at times and very tired, have also been urinating a lot, i put it all down to the drug. I'm usually on a 22 day cycle, however, am on day 30 and still not on, confused by this, as i thought chlomid was supposed to help regulate your period, not extend it. I've done 2 tests and both neg, so will wait until next week and if still not on will test again!
Wish you all the best, keep me posted!

When to take second cycle??

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can offer some advice, i was prescribed 3 cycles of clomid at my last app as i am not ovulating, i was also given provera to give me a period so on day 2 of bleeding i started clomid and took for 5 days, the instructions given by my dr was to take the second cycle on day 2 of my next period, this is where i am now stuck as i have not had another period so cant take the second cycle! its so frustrating as my app at fertility clinic is not for 3 mnths as the dr gave me three cycles to take, has any one else experienced the same problem that clomid has not made them ovulate at all?? and how did they take the second cycle?

Really desperate for advice
xoxox

Hope this helps

hi
when i was first prescribed clomid i didnt have regular periods so my doctor prescribed some tablets wich can cause u to have a priod kinda like provera as well as my clomid u may have to start ur clomid over again but go visit ur gp and ask for advice u may need to take provera every month before you take ur clomid if your not having regular periods.thats all i can tell you really as im kinda new to this clomid thing i was prescibed 4 mnths of clomid and am now in my fourth month so far clomid has made me ovulate but not fall pregnant yet so im kinda hoping this month will be the month as its my last
hope this helps x

Me too!!!!!

Hiya,

im on clomid too, i had a little boy 16 months ago very easily and have been trying for another ever since with no luck, so they put me on clomid 3 months ago and im also suffering the same symptoms!!! I have also had a knock from them that last month i didnt even produce and follicles and was told that i may not be able t have any more children, so last month they also gave me metformin to take whihc is a drug which normally runs along side diabetes but it basiically strips your blood of sugar and they are hoping that this will make the clomid work for me again, im due my scan tmorrow to see how its all gone and im so scared its unreal but hey you hang on in there im sure you will have your BFP in no time, Clomid on the whole is a good drug i just dont think it agrees with me too well!!!!!

Take care and hope you get sorted out xxx

Why did i start this

Hi

I am a 40 year old married woman who had ovarian cancer 20 years ago so i lost an ovary due to that. I wasn't that converned about having children as my husband and I were too busy having fun and getting on with our careers. Then I hit the big 40 and all I thought about was children, getting pregnant, being pregnant, the whole lot. We were referred to an NHS specialist who was brilliant, we had months of tests and husband was fine, however, because I only have 1 ovary it's caused problems now. He started me on clomid and I have just finished my 1st course and had the scans. They showed nothing which was quite upsetting and because of my age we have to pay for this privately..which made me cry a little bit more. I had a few symptoms... my 7 day period ended up being a 4 day period, my boobs felt like I had bricks in them and I felt for everyone who I saw on the news or any TV programme.... I even cried when Arsenal lost a football game!!!! then I had to deal with a private stenographer and PA..... I have been called "abnormal", "over emotional" and to top it all was told that there was probably no point in continuing with the further 2 doses which I have left. I empathise with every woman who is on this drug and I wish you every success.....xxxxx

Clomid

Hi I am on my second cycle of clomid and I am suffering with similar symptoms to you. I feel nauseseous majority of the time which is strange as I had clomid a couple of years ago to conceive m daughter and I didn't have any symptoms then. I am putting it down to the huge surge in progesterone that I am not used to. Hope things calm down for you and that nausea turns into morning sickness!

S

Clomid

My situation is completely like yours. To make it even more strange, my last period was at the same time and I have taken clomid too. Im just waiting and getting frustrated!

Pains!

I have just had my 1st course of clomid. I finished the course 2 days ago! I have got really bad pains on my left hand side, i presume this is from my ovary as it feels like the same site when i ovulate.

Has anybody else suffered from these pains?

Emerald

I've also just started on 50mg chlomid and i also experienced pains around my ovaries, it felt like the chlomid was overworking them, i had never felt a pain like this before, have also had sore boobs!

Clomid

If anyone else is in my situation or can offer advice please help!

After trying for a baby for 2 years without success my doctor transfered me to the local hospital. I had tests and so did my husband but everything showed up normal. I am ovulating but my cycles are 40 days long. My doctor recommended clomid to reduce the length of my cycle even though it has been confirmed 3 times that I ovulate. I started on 50mg but my periods were still 36 days long so my doctor has increased my dose to 100mg. Has anyone else been put on clomid for this reason and has it worked. I take my first tablet on the 100mg dose tonight and I am dreading the side effects!! I have also been on the IVF waiting list but its 2 years for my area arggggggggg

Please give me some advice

Thanks
Claire
