Clomid advice

Hi, I've just taken my first cycle of clomid - last period was 29th December and my cycle is any where between 32-45 days. For the last week I've been really tired - sore boobs, emotional...

Taking clomid.

I started taking clomid in April it was our first cycle and I was wondering is any body having any bad systoms.
I am due to start my period this thursday but since day 22 of my cycle I have been in agony with pregnant like systoms. My boobs are so so heavy and so tender and my stomach is really sore. I am feeling sick quite a bit and I am really tired. Sleeping during the day and going to bed really early too. Once in bed I also find it uncomfortable to sleep.
My husband dosen't want to do a test yet as he says it could be jinxing it, but I am stressing a bit thinking is it my mind playing tricks on my, the side effects of clomid or am I actually pregnant. Is anyone else having these systoms.
Thanks for reading and any help.
Good luck to everyone

There is hope,keep positive.

Hi all,
I know only too well how hard it is to get pregnant and what an emotional roller coaster it is. I took clomid for four months and didn't fall pregnant,I was very upset, then amazingly fell pregnant naturally 6 weeks after the clomid, and over 2years of trying to conceive,I am convinced the the clomid had a huge part in this. I am now 17 weeks pregnant and although there has been some complications everything is fine,I still can't really believe this is happening,it's so amazing, and well worth the worry and the the wait.
Never give up hope,I no it's hard but your chances have got to be better if you have hope.
Baby dust to all.
xx

Clomid sympathise

I've got preggers on Clomid twice!! - unfortunately the first ended in an ruptured ectopic & the second an early miscarriage a couple of weeks ago! Am positive for the future though as have never been pregnant before & this drug whatever the side effects obviously works... Experienced bloatedness, blured vison & headaches but such a small price to pay. Fingers crossed for me 3rd time lucky!! Would love to hear from others with similar history & positive outcome!

Clomid pregnancy

Hi there,
This message is in response to the lady who has managed to get pregnant twice on Clomid.

Here's my story
I was trying to get pregnant for six years with no success. I was referred to a fertility specialist by my doctor who did blood tests to check if I was ovulating, which I was. Also did a laparoscopy to look at my tubes and womb, this was all fine with no problems. My partner also had tests done and all was well with him. Once this was done they told us that it was unexplained infertility.
My cycle had never been regular, I had a period almost every month but the length ranged from 28days to 45days.
They sugested that we tried Clomid for 6months then the next and final step would be IVF if there was no result.
Anyway we agreed to give the clomid a go and the second month I got pregnant! My little boy is now 9months and perfect. I am now ready to start another round of clomid and am in the process of getting my day21 blood tests done again. I see the prof next month and hopefully he'll start me then. I thought I would never get pregnant and had no faith in Clomid but I was wrong!
It'll probably happen when you least expect it, that's how it was with me x

Awww....

know exactly how frustrated you are...am on the same boat. I took my first round of clomid last month, and experienced some of the same symptoms as you did.But also took it that it was side effects from the tablets. I also experienced seeing white spots now & again. Am not sure how the first round of clomid worked, as my cycle isnt due for another wk...I have started getting twinge type cramps...so am assuming that the clomid didnt work...and will have to do round 2;( wont know more til next wk...but I'm so impatient... let me know how the clomid worked for you

Trying to get pregnant

I just turned 40, I have two children one will be 20 in July the other one 3 in July as well. My husband is turning 71 in May this year. He is not the father of my first born. When we decided to try for a baby it took us 18 months after ceasing contraception. My son will be 3 in July and I have been trying to have another baby with no success. Can anyone help?

Me too!

I've just taken my first Clomid and I'm all over the place. I skipped my period last cycle and was desperate with the thought that I was having early menopause before I could begin Clomid.Normally I am a rational, intelligent woman who has just started a new job after a fantastic promotion and now when you mention my fertility I fall apart. My beloved brother and his partner are pregnant and it is very hard to talk about it with them- which makes me feel mean and narcissistic.

If you are having all those symptoms then the Clomid is starting to stir things up- which is a good sign- surely!
Buy yourself as many ovulation tests as you can and keep testing.Ginger tea works for all nausea and Agnus Castus really regulates your cycle- see a naturopath or Zita West if you are on Clomid.

and the best of luck...

Mean and narcissistic

Hi Lizzyl,

Your comment made me laugh! It was like hearing myself speak! My sister is pregnant and I am a bit weirded out by that - as I am 11 years older, have had 2 miscarriages and have cried more this month than I have in the past 20 years!Intelligent, new job and feeling like a maniac! Thank gawd no one can hear my internal dialogue. It is really unfiltered and on high production!

I am 7 days late for my period (not pregnant though - I test 6 or 80 times!!!) I just started to spot - which made me cry again because now I don't know my own body, have no clue about my cycle (which was 28 days and down to the hour), and was told that I can't get pregnant (even though I have been pregnant 2 times). I was told I don't ovulate - (doctor told me my 2 pregnancies were miracles! I miscarried at 12 weeks with both) and that if I do get pregnant - I will probably spontaneously combust because all my eggs are old (I am 38) and damaged and the miscarriages were due to birth defects because of the old eggs. I have less than a 5% chance of having a baby...let alone a healthy one. What a bunch of bunk.

My sister (whom I do love dearly) queried perhaps I went into menopause and "used up" all of my eggs while on clomid. Cried again.

The nurse at the fertility clinic told me that perhaps my cycle is being extended and that it sometimes happens. The rage I felt could have rivaled the Incredible Hulk!!! That means I totally would have missed my ovulation, as it probably happened on day 21 (what she said) and we were wayyyyyy off that baby boat! We were working hard the first half of the cycle! I am on a 100 mgs and my symptoms were being really, really hot at night and a wicked mad bladder (felt like a bladder infection with spasms). I stopped all artificial sweetners and am drinking 2 L of H2O per day minimum. That helps.

Other weird things...I threw up from taking my vitamins (never happened before) - I didn't know I could vomit out my ears! Also, I have experienced mood swings that make me want to leave myself.

What is a Zita West? Is it a happy pill - cause I need one today.

Clomid

I didn't have any reactions at all, but my dr put me on a low dose to start (25mg per day) building up to a higer dose gradually (100mg per day). What dose are you on?

Basically the hormone rush you would experience would be that of the hormone that is released when the egg(s) pops (forget what its called), not sure if this hormone would account for the symptoms you describe anyway, which I believe are associated with different hormones (which I also can't remember! Geez when I was trying to fall pregnant they were all on the tip of my tongue!)

100 per day???

I started my first round of clomid last month...and it was only 50mgs per day... Havent started my cycle yet(still a wk to go),am hoping I wont have to take another round...but its kinda looking that way, as I am having some twinge type cramps... Wondering if I should suggest to the doc if I should be on a higher dose??? My side effects were mild, and werent so bothersome...towards the end of the round of clomid...I did start seeing white spots...but they werent that bad, just now & again. Doc said this was normal, but would have to monitor it. Breast & nipples were very sensative, but there again...just took it as another side effect to the clomid. Would you think that 50mgs is a low dose compared to what your taking appears that way...

Clomid????

Hey everyone!

I'm a newbie to all this, I would be greatful if you could take the time to read my message as some one out there must have been in the same boat as me at one point, right? Lol!

I came off the pill Dianette back in Oct 06 and my periods completely stopped! I didnt have a period until July 07 and then again in Sept 07.

Due to the lack of any signs of A period i decided to go to the docters to see what ws happening since then I have been diagnosed with pcos after many tests and ultrasounds.

I was first prescribed metoformin back in July 07 but due to the sicky feeling i got i couldnt keep taking it. I have started taking 50Mg of Clomide starting in Dec 07 , however the docter told me to take it on the 1st to the 5th of dec and that i should come on at the end of the month if not pregnant.

But the thing is i came on , on the 10th dec for 5 days and am now confused because i dont know whether to take it after a period for 5 days or to carry on from the 1st of the month as advised my the doc. However the doc didnt give this paticular senario so im stuck with What to do.

I started Clomid again on the 1st jan and havent come on since so fingers crossed i'll fall this month...

has anyone ever come across this before? any comments would be useful!

Thanks

Denise O
