Hi I am on my second cycle of clomid and I am suffering with similar symptoms to you. I feel nauseseous majority of the time which is strange as I had clomid a couple of years ago to conceive m daughter and I didn't have any symptoms then. I am putting it down to the huge surge in progesterone that I am not used to. Hope things calm down for you and that nausea turns into morning sickness!

Hi,

I've just taken my first cycle of clomid - last period was 29th December and my cycle is any where between 32-45 days. For the last week I've been really tired - sore boobs, emotional, and really nauseus, I'm just wondering if anyone else had this on their first cycle - I'm guessing it's far to early to be having any pregnancy symptoms so assume it's just a huge hormone surge caused by the tablets.... I've just sent off for some test strips but obvioulsy don't really know when to test as my cycle is so up in the air....

Not quite sure what I'm asking but just hoped someone can empathise....

Hi, I am also 35 and dont have any children. My Dr has just prescribed Clomid - 50mg and he also didnt mention anything about scans, just for me to have a blood test after 3 months of taking Clomid. I am concerned as my sister had to take Clomid and she had regular scans. Should I ask my Dr about the scans as I am abit cautious.

Your advice would be appreciated.

Hi

I definately empathise with you!

Have also started taking chlomid for first time and experienced same things, had sore boobs, felt sick and dizzy at times and very tired, have also been urinating a lot, i put it all down to the drug. I'm usually on a 22 day cycle, however, am on day 30 and still not on, confused by this, as i thought chlomid was supposed to help regulate your period, not extend it. I've done 2 tests and both neg, so will wait until next week and if still not on will test again!
Wish you all the best, keep me posted!

"When to take second cycle??"
Posted by dani22100 10 August  at  23:00

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can offer some advice, i was prescribed 3 cycles of clomid at my last app as i am not ovulating, i was also given provera to give me a period so on day 2 of bleeding i started clomid and took for 5 days, the instructions given by my dr was to take the second cycle on day 2 of my next period, this is where i am now stuck as i have not had another period so cant take the second cycle! its so frustrating as my app at fertility clinic is not for 3 mnths as the dr gave me three cycles to take, has any one else experienced the same problem that clomid has not made them ovulate at all?? and how did they take the second cycle?

Really desperate for advice

Hiya,

im on clomid too, i had a little boy 16 months ago very easily and have been trying for another ever since with no luck, so they put me on clomid 3 months ago and im also suffering the same symptoms!!! I have also had a knock from them that last month i didnt even produce and follicles and was told that i may not be able t have any more children, so last month they also gave me metformin to take whihc is a drug which normally runs along side diabetes but it basiically strips your blood of sugar and they are hoping that this will make the clomid work for me again, im due my scan tmorrow to see how its all gone and im so scared its unreal but hey you hang on in there im sure you will have your BFP in no time, Clomid on the whole is a good drug i just dont think it agrees with me too well!!!!!

Take care and hope you get sorted out xxx
"Why did i start this"

Hi

I am a 40 year old married woman who had ovarian cancer 20 years ago so i lost an ovary due to that. I wasn't that converned about having children as my husband and I were too busy having fun and getting on with our careers. Then I hit the big 40 and all I thought about was children, getting pregnant, being pregnant, the whole lot. We were referred to an NHS specialist who was brilliant, we had months of tests and husband was fine, however, because I only have 1 ovary it's caused problems now. He started me on clomid and I have just finished my 1st course and had the scans. They showed nothing which was quite upsetting and because of my age we have to pay for this privately..which made me cry a little bit more. I had a few symptoms... my 7 day period ended up being a 4 day period, my boobs felt like I had bricks in them and I felt for everyone who I saw on the news or any TV programme.... I even cried when Arsenal lost a football game!!!! then I had to deal with a private stenographer and PA..... I have been called "abnormal", "over emotional" and to top it all was told that there was probably no point in continuing with the further 2 doses which I have left. I empathise with every woman who is on this drug and I wish you every success.....xxxxx

"Pains!"
Posted by sally920 20 January  at  20:36

I have just had my 1st course of clomid. I finished the course 2 days ago! I have got really bad pains on my left hand side, i presume this is from my ovary as it feels like the same site when i ovulate.

Has anybody else suffered from these pains?

If anyone else is in my situation or can offer advice please help!

After trying for a baby for 2 years without success my doctor transfered me to the local hospital. I had tests and so did my husband but everything showed up normal. I am ovulating but my cycles are 40 days long. My doctor recommended clomid to reduce the length of my cycle even though it has been confirmed 3 times that I ovulate. I started on 50mg but my periods were still 36 days long so my doctor has increased my dose to 100mg. Has anyone else been put on clomid for this reason and has it worked. I take my first tablet on the 100mg dose tonight and I am dreading the side effects!! I have also been on the IVF waiting list but its 2 years for my area arggggggggg

Please give me some advice

Thanks
Claire

Hi Claire

And even though i ovulate from my left tube I have been put on Clomid 50mg and started the first course this week (so worried about the side effects after reading everyones notes lol)but it will be worth it!
My cycle is 28days long but this seems really short compaired to everyone else.Have you had any side effects yet. Take care

I've got preggers on Clomid twice!! - unfortunately the first ended in an ruptured ectopic & the second an early miscarriage a couple of weeks ago! Am positive for the future though as have never been pregnant before & this drug whatever the side effects obviously works... Experienced bloatedness, blured vison & headaches but such a small price to pay. Fingers crossed for me 3rd time lucky!! Would love to hear from others with similar history & positive outcome!
"Clomid pregnancy"

Hi there,
This message is in response to the lady who has managed to get pregnant twice on Clomid.

Here's my story
I was trying to get pregnant for six years with no success. I was referred to a fertility specialist by my doctor who did blood tests to check if I was ovulating, which I was. Also did a laparoscopy to look at my tubes and womb, this was all fine with no problems. My partner also had tests done and all was well with him. Once this was done they told us that it was unexplained infertility.
My cycle had never been regular, I had a period almost every month but the length ranged from 28days to 45days.
They sugested that we tried Clomid for 6months then the next and final step would be IVF if there was no result.
Anyway we agreed to give the clomid a go and the second month I got pregnant! My little boy is now 9months and perfect. I am now ready to start another round of clomid and am in the process of getting my day21 blood tests done again. I see the prof next month and hopefully he'll start me then. I thought I would never get pregnant and had no faith in Clomid but I was wrong!
It'll probably happen when you least expect it, that's how it was with me x
"Awww...."

know exactly how frustrated you are...am on the same boat. I took my first round of clomid last month, and experienced some of the same symptoms as you did.But also took it that it was side effects from the tablets. I also experienced seeing white spots now & again. Am not sure how the first round of clomid worked, as my cycle isnt due for another wk...I have started getting twinge type cramps...so am assuming that the clomid didnt work...and will have to do round 2;( wont know more til next wk...but I'm so impatient... let me know how the clomid worked for you
