"Same here?????????????" Posted by haydnmattsmam 7 July at 02:43
Yeah same here. I wonder how common this is and because everyone cannot be preggers. This is the second time ive had the mirena coil fitted, but I did not notice any strange symptoms last time, if at all there was any. I had my first coil fitted since I was 18 until I was 22. I had this one fitted not long after my second in January/feburary 08 so only been in 5 months or so. But, I've recently become very tired, sore boobies, and even having those first flutterings/kicking feelings. Oh and was off smells the other week and was bleeding slighty and i don't tend to get periods on the coil. It's got to be in my head and I cannot be pregnant. But it is very bizarre, too bizarre.
Thinking about taking a test, but thinkning is it worth it coz it would be too early any way. I think it could be all in my head or the coil lets off some sort of hormaone that messes with you............
Anyway did it turn out that you were pregnant, id love to know ???????????????????

"Pregnancy symptons on the coil" Posted by lynsey1211 29 July at 12:44
Hi Girls
What you describe about being pregnant on the coil is because the coil tricks your body in making it think its pregant so when a sperm and egg meet they dont go together as your body is telling them they are already pregnant so not needed which is why at some time you get the symptons of being pregnant.

Hi Im not too sure if I am putting this up properly as I am new to his forum. I had a termanation last year and had the coil fitted, however latly I have been incredibly sick tired and god the headaches!! I have also had spotting of blood,I had my last period about 2 weeks ago so Im not due for another two weeks. I took a test but I think its too early anyway. If I was pregnant what effect would the coil have on the pregnancy if I wished to continue with i? would it be removed??? I keep getting mixed messages! Help!

"Well," Posted by glaswegian 1 June at 16:36
if you've had an ectopic pregnancy before you should not be carrying a coil. A copper coil increases the risk of ectopic pregnancies and should not be fitted in women who have already had one. Did you get your ectopic pregnancy before you received your first coil? Did you tell the doctor? You must always mention that.
Stronger periods are normal when wearing a coil. I've got one myself.
Bleedings and / or pain when not having the period are NOT normal and you should see your doctor as soon as possible. Don't rely on a pregnancy test from the pharmacy only since ectopic pregnancies don't always show the "pregnant" result.
Please read the package leaflet if you've got one. Which coil are you using?
Please don't mess with that - go to the next family planning clinic and please mention the ectopic pregnancy you've once had. You should definetely be using a different method of contraception since you are putting yourself at risk.
Let us know how it all went.

No contraception is foolproof, so it's possible. It sounds like something is wrong there, I'd take a test asap if I were you. I think bleeding can sometimes mean you're pg, but get it checked out at the Drs, as it could be several things.

I recently miscarried Jan.08 at 5 weeks and miscarried April at 9 weeks. The first one was from an infection and the second was from turner syndrom. After the second miscarriage I got on the IUD it started to give me headaches everyday so just removed it June 11/08 since then I had a period on june 12/08 which lasted for 5 days. After it went off I became intament with my husband and I noticed that I bleed afterwards all the time.I hope its not due to any infection or open cervix. What do you girls think it might be?
