hi there,
i was sterilized 2 years ago. i have 3 kids, and had an ovarian cyst while i was pregnant with my third pregnancy.

i was in agony, and was in hospital most of the pregnancy. they were reluctant to do much, and i was terrified of losing the baby. they thought that it would go away after the birth, but it hadn't and so i was booked in to have it removed.

i was 25 at the time, and decided that i would rather be sterilized at the same time. this was only four months after my daughter was born. my gyn was unsure, because of my age, but i was quite insistant. apart from this mt husband was really against getting the snip (MEN)!!!!! so i had the op, and hoped that that as the end.

however now, i feel every month my periods are due, i am hoping they won't come. i am feeling so broody, and when i feel the least bit sick, i am thinking "am i pregnant"??

i know you will all be saying, that i made my choice, so live with it, but i feel i have made a decision in haste. my husband is quite happy with 3, as am i. i just shake off, wanting to be pregnant again.

have any of you heard of people falling pregnant after being steralized??

i know theres not much advice anyone can offer here, just wanted to post it, as i feel my thoughts are drivivng me crazy.

Hi i was steralised almost 9 yrs ago and deeply regret it. I was 23 and pregnant with my 4th child, I was in a relationship that wasnt good and was scared to be alone with any more children.

I dont believe i should have been allowed to be steralised! I had 3 children in 30mths and a 4yr old all by c section and at the time the decision was made i had been in hospital for 7 weeks over christmas[ seperated from my other 3 children] and very emotional.

I have asked to have a reversal but have been told i will have to pay an dont have that kind of money. I desperatly want another baby with my new partner[ he doesnt have a
ny children] and pray every month that my period wont come!

Egg sharing / ivf

Hi, i understand your pain of not being able to have another baby. I have 2 wonderful boys 11 and 12 years and im desperate for another baby with my new partner(he also has no kids), we have been trying for 5 years then went for tests and proved my fallopian tubes are bothe blocked and that my only chance is through ivf, we have discussed this but cant afford the costs. We was then told about egg sharing as a giver, this is when you donate some of your eggs to someone who can't produce there own and in exchange for this your ivf treatment is totally free.
My partner and i have now decided to go ahead with this after a year thinking about it.
Why dont you discus this with your partner as an option if you cant afford the reversal?

Mines 2yrs same

hi i got steralized 2 yrs ago also only i now goin through test as the doctors think the baby is in my tubes an eptopic not good i really feel like ive been robbed and what makes it worse the doctors now refer to it as a terminal abortion well as someone who doesn't believe in abortion them words cut real deep im in a bit of a crisis at the mo but it nice to no it not only me this appens too.

Depending on what procedure they used on you...theres pretty much now days no way you could concieve unless your willing to go in for a reversal...speaking from experience...I was sterilized after having my 5th & decided 5yrs later that I what I really wanted was to have more children, so god willing I went threw it...am now on clomid as I wasnt able to ovulate properly after the reversal...will be taking my 2nd dose next wk if my cycle should come(fingers crossed it wont) if you'd like a chat you can find me on msn

Hi i was sterilized 5 years ago and it was the biggist mistake ive ever made,i get so unset knowing that i will never have a baby again!,ive looked into a reversal but it would cost £3250 & i dont have the money,i hope that anyone that has had one can have a baby again ,i wish with all my heart i could!

sad feeling in my gut realising there are so many women that are going through what I have.
I'm 31 and was sterilised 6 years ago like I was having a tooth out!
no consultation with giving reasons for wanting the proceedure done no counselling nothing I think its disgusting how the nhs do this proceedure on demand. Yes i have two children but i was only 24.
Being sterilised was the worst decision I ever made but then again I was married to a man 16yrs my senior who bullied me mentally and physically so it wasnt really my decision.
Any way I've since met and married a fantastic man and the baby pang wouldnt go away so i had my reversal done 5 weeks ago i'm going back to have a scan this wednesday to make sure my tubes are still open. I'm soooo hoping they are and have even more hope that we can concieve. I did have to pay for the operation £5,100, 00 with the consultation fees added on top so it didnt come cheap but lets face it its extremly cheap considering what the potential outcome is hey?
I would plead and beg any women to never consider being sterilised because when the baby pang comes it comes from within not your head and no matter what your head says the baby pang will stay and get stronger. I would encourage those who already have to do what ever it takes to ease the baby pang. I do know that you dont have to have the reversal done you could just go for IVF. If nothing else check out all your options.
