Xray

Hi. I had my xray in april. It is callet HSG.It is done to see if your falopean tubes are clear and also to see if you have any cysts or anything that should not be in your uterus. It is quite old method and newer one is laparoscopy, which is done by key hold surgery under anastetics and is more acurate, because doctors can see inside your uterus and can tell if there is anything wrong. You should be able to find lots of usefull info on net. I did.
Also, HSG is increasing your chances to get pregnant 3 months after prosedure, because it makes your inside a bit oily from the dye so sperm and egg can moove easier and quicker. Also if there is any debry inside of your falopean tubes, HSG can clear it and make them more open. It is also considered as tretment rather than examination in lots of private clinics.
So how was this HSG for you? Mine went really well, I had no pain or bleeding and I am fine.
Bye

Xray

Hi, thanks for your reply. My examination was very painful and i would never do it again. How was your results? Mine were all clear. I hope it will increase my chances as i am desperate. You were very lucky to have a pain free experience! I was also wondering how old you are and your reasons for having it done.
I had it done as my specialist said i am only 21 and didnt want to preform any surgery on me.
Thanks again for your reply
Bye

Hi...

Hi linzi... Well I've just turned 30. The reason I had it done was that we had been unsuccessuly trying for a baby since december 2002. So after all possible tests on both of us they decided to perform HSG partly as a tretment and partly to see if my falop.tubes are open.
My results were very good. Actually more than very good, even doctor was surpriced how very quickly the dye spilled. He sayd my tubes must be wide open and very clean.
I am sorry to hear you had painfull experience. But at least you have goo results.
Good luck

Hi

just a quick question, was this test done at a fertility clinic?
i have been refered for tests i'm 25 and have been trying 18 months and would love to soeak to anyone who has been through tests.

Hi...

Hi jayjay...
Well, I was refered by my gynecologyst (had to wait 4 months till my turn came!!!!) and then went back to hospital and prosedure was done by radiologyst at radiology department.
Actual prosedure took under 3 minutes - VERY QUICK. I was able to see the screen and was told what is going on and what they were going to do... It was not unconfortable or painful at all and I would not hesitate to go for it again if necessary.
I did read lots of positive info about HSG before I had it done, so I went in very confident and not scared. Yes, thoms up from me.
Good luck
