Tests after 3rd miscarriage

Hi everyone,

Wasn't sure which forum to post on so hope someone can help. I've just had my 3rd m/c in 12 months and the hospital are running some tests to try and find out why. Both me and my husband have had blood tests done but the results aren't back yet. The hospital explained some of what they were testing for in me but no-one mentioned what they're looking for with my husband. Does anyone know what they test men for in these circumstances? Firstly, i'm so sorry to here of your losses. They are probably testing for a chromosomal issue with your dh's sperm, or possibly a compatibility issue between your eggs and his sperm. There are some conditions that are caused by both partners being carriers of a particular thing, the more tests they do the more able they will be to advise you on the best way forward. Probably dna damage...

A common cause of miscarriages is chromosomal abnormalities so if his sperm had a lot of damaged DNA this could be the problem.
