Pcos and getting pregnant????

I got told i have PCOS 1 year ago bu my doctors haven't really done anything about it. I told them i wanted to try for a baby but they haven't given me any info at all. What treatments are about to help you ovalate. I'm not the usual candidate for PCOS i'm not over weight, haven't got excess hair etc. I'm 5ft 4ins and 8st 4lbs.

Do the treatments to help get pregnant make you put on weight?

Thanks Linzi x

Just one more question i had breast augmentation in May, really i should've waited until after i had a baby but i couldn't wait any longer. Does anybody know if it's safe and if i do ger pregnant will it affect the implant???

Pcos

Hi Linzi

I have always had irregular periods and i was diagnosed with pcos within the last 12 months. i to am not overweight but do have the occasional hairs growing where i dont want them (on my bloody chin and toes)i had to undergo a scan and a dye test think it was called a colposcopy and a laparoscopy on the 15th aug. after the surgery i was advised to start a course of clomid as i was not ovulating correctly on my next period. on the 14th september i found out that i was 4 weeks pregnant - i couldnt belive it after 4 years of trying!! i was told at the docs that after my op the blood that i was losing must have been my period as well as the effect of the laparoscopy and as i had a dye test at the same time it actually cleared my tubes. go to the docs and demand to be refered to the hospital, as it worked for me.good luck.xx

Pcos too...

Hi there,

I have PCOS too but am now 37 weeks pregnant. It depends on how bad it is, i.e. how many cysts there is and if both ovaries are affected.

I had a operation to remove my cysts as they were causing me lots of pain.

I came off the pill for less than a month when I discovered I was pregnant.

I would contact your GP and raise your concerns with them about this, find out as much as you can and go from there.

Hope that helps, wishing you all the best,
Natalie x

Hi natzcatz

Congratulations on your pregnancy x

I have cysts on both my overies my right is a lot worse than my left though, my doctor told me that he didn't want to remove then incase they get even more damaged which would result in losing them.

I'm not on th pill i haven't taken it since i was 18 and i am now 23, i have about 3 periods a year.

I've been back to my doctors but that's all he wants to do is put me back on the pill, which i dont want because i want a baby.

All the best

Clomid

I live in Spain and here its called Omifin, anyway this medication is what docs normally give to ovulate or ovulate more,in my case to ovulate more.
I take one pill per day for 5days from day5 of the cycle(which is the norm I think).
I,m in my 3rd month of taking it,what I,ve found is that rather than make you put weight on it just makes you feel a little bloated but every body is differnet and whats good for one may not be for others, its a case of trying and making sure you have regular examinations to make sure you aren,t hyoer stimulating and producing ovarian cysts which is sometimes one of the side effects.
I hope this info has been of some help.Good luck!

Up

with this post (in the sense if there is a reply people tend to see what's been written).

Can't help but maybe someone else can.
