"Clomid advice"

If anyone else is in my situation or can offer advice please help!

After trying for a baby for 2 years without success my doctor transfered me to the local hospital. I had tests and so did my husband but everything showed up normal. I am ovulating but my cycles are 40 days long. My doctor recommended clomid to reduce the length of my cycle even though it has been confirmed 3 times that I ovulate. I started on 50mg but my periods were still 36 days long so my doctor has increased my dose to 100mg. Has anyone else been put on clomid for this reason and has it worked. I take my first tablet on the 100mg dose tonight and I am dreading the side effects!! I have also been on the IVF waiting list but its 2 years for my area arggggggggg

Please give me some advice

Thanks

"Pregnancy on clomid"

I took clomid as I was not ovulating, my old 'normal' periods were long (45 days) but on clomid they seemed to go much shorter (about 30 days) but that wasn't the reason for the tablets, it was just to get those eggs out!

However, even after I started ovulating for a period of time there was still no pregnancy, so my gynae did a laparascopy to check tubes etc. and he found an removed a small fibroid which he believed may have prevented implantation. 3 months later I was pregnant so maybe it had been a factor as well.

I didn't have any pain, and he had never noticed it on previous scans. My good friend also fell pregant after having a fibroid removed after trying for a few years.

Worth asking about?

hi there, long story short, ive had 5 m/c's, after my 4th it was over 12 months and hadnt conceived so was sent to a fertilty doctor (because of my age which is 40 next week) who gave me 100mg of clomid and conceived 2nd time round with twins. sadly i m/c'd again in september. have just finished my 4th lot of tablets so fingers crossed this month, going to see him again next week to talk about ivf.
the only side effect i had with them was bloating belly and crying all the time.
good luck

Thankyou for replying. I really hope you get some good news soon keep your chin up. Its really hard coping with your emotions when your thinking straight never mind when your taking Clomid and it sends you hormones into a whirlwind! I really hope that these tablets work otherwise I am in for a long 2 year wait for IVF
