Hi all.
Me and my partner have been TTC for 3 yrs. last year I had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have my tube removed. I will be starting on Clomid in about 3 weeks but i have read a lot of stories where women have had an ectopic pregnancy while taking clomid before having a successful pregnancy. I'm a little worried as if I have another ectopic and have to have my other tube removed my only option would be IVF which I dont really want to have to do. Does anyone know what the chances are of having an ectopic on the first try with clomid. My periods are about 24 days, (thats regular for me), and I do ovulate. Ive also had HSG and my remaining tube is clear.
Please does anyone have any stories of success with similar situation to me?
Thank you all. xxx

I was on clomid as I had pcos and was not ovulating, my gynae started me on a very small dose to start (1/2 a tablet per day) and over time worked up to 2 tablets per day which finally seemed to trigger ovulation.
I am curious as to why you are taking clomid if you are ovulating already? Is it to promote release of multiple eggs? That is why my gynae started me 'slow' - to help prevent the release of tons of eggs at once (esp since with pcos you have so many 'poised' to be released but just not going anywhere).
He didn't advise me of any particular risks of ectopic pregnancy during clomid use that I can remember.

ive been put on clomid as everything else seems to be ok, ov, dp sperm, tube clear etc... he put me on clomid to promote my ov as he thinks i ov but the eggs are not in a good enough state to be fertilised if that makes sense. if clomid doesnt work ill be put forward for ivf. glad it started you ov. any luck yet?

The whole process took a couple of years but I finally did get pregnant and we now have a beautiful 11 month old girl.
Hang in there and good luck!
