I found out (by chance) five days ago that I am six weeks pregnant. I have had three losses and have severe PCOS. Is there anyone on this site that has had a health pregnancy following a PCOS diagnosis. I am feeling all sorts of aches and pains and although not panicked a little worried.

I was told i had pcos and a very low chance of becoming pregnant, my doctor put me on Metformin and within 5 weeks i was pregnant, It was my 1st pregnancy and I carried right through to full term, My daughter was born at 5:43 on 16/6/07 weighing 5lb 1oz and was beautiful, She has just turned 1 and is doing so well, It is possible and I'm wishing all the luck in the world on you, I hope you have your beautifel baby. I randomly read these threads in the hopes that I can give some advice and information to those with PCOS or those suffering fertility problmes. Just noticed Madcow's reply to my thread (originaly dated January)

I am pleased to report that we are currently awaiting the arrival of our baby boy who beat all the odds!! If there is one message I can pass on to all those suffering from PCOS and endometriosis - the mind has a powerful effect on the body. I was told that we would NOT have children. After resigning myself to that - a month later we conceived naturally.

Good luck to all you ladies out there and when I say it can happen IT CAN!! I am evidence of that.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 and was put straight onto metformin tablets, I'm now 20 (21 next month) and found out yesterday that I am pregnant, I have been feeling pains aswell but just figured that, that is normal as I have never been pregnant before.

I only started trying for a baby at 36 which is when I found out I had pcos and probably had never ovulated regularly my whole life.

I fell pregnant at 39 with the help of clomid (to help me ovulate) and the only additional checks my gynae did (aside from normal downs testing) was to check my early hormone levels to ensure I had enough progesterone which is somethign that if you don't have enough of it early in the pregnancy you can lose it. My levels were fine, more than enough to support the early pregnancy but if they had not been he would have prescribed supplemental hormones to assist. I believe this is only an issue early in the pregnancy, once the baby is 'more established' it is no longer an issue.

Maybe you could talk to your doctor about this to ensure your progesterone levels are being monitored?

PS I had a great pregnancy, no sickness, gained the recommended 12kg, stayed active & worked and rushed around getting things ready right up to my due date. Ok I was awfully tired for the middle 3 months but I can barely remember that now! I also was in labour for only 2.5 hours so it seems that I missed my calling in life as I only found out at ripe age of 40 that I am a very efficient baby making machine - aside from the ovulation part, that is!

I found out i had pcos when i hadn't fallen pregnat after 2 year trying, My doctor gave me a drug called metformin, which is a pill given to diabetics, somehow it worked and i became pregnant, i had strong everything, aches and pains, bad morning sickness the whole works, but i wouldn't change a thing because my daughter is the most beautiful thing to ever be seen on this planet, I'M SO LUCKY!!!!

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2001 aged 20 and was told there was a chance I wouldn't be able to have children. My periods were non existent for 3 years.I gained 6 stone in weight in one year. The first course of action was to come off the pill, detox the fake hormones and had the coil fitted. After a laproscopy (to see if there were any other underlying factors to the lack of periods(which there weren't) I had periods on and off again for several years.

We started trying for a baby unassisted in Sept 2006. 6 months later I found I was 6 weeks pregnant. I was due yesterday and just waiting now for baby to make an appearance.

All I can recommend is relax, go with the flow and if you have concerns re pains see your doctor who may offer to refer you to early pregnancy scan unit. As I wasn't having periods when I conceived I had no idea how far gone I was until I had a scan which dated 6 weeks.

hi, I have severe pcos and successfully concieved (with a bit of help) in 2004 with my son. I had a very good pregnancy and my son is perfectly helpful. I am now due again in August 08. If you have any questions let me know.

I have been diagnosed with PCOS and am presently pregnant and due in jan 09. I have been pregnant before now and i lost the babies (TWIN BOYS) in the 20th week.
I just want to know what precautions to take, if you can help with the dos and donts so that i can have a successful delivery.
Due to PCOS have been SERIOUSLY overweight even before the pregnancy and am just 27years.
I would be more than glad if you can help.

hi i have pcos i have had it since i weas 16 i am now 25 i have been trying to get pregnant for a long time but nothing has happened i get a lot of pain in my groin
