Pcos and getting pregnant

Hi all, I have PCOS, my doc told me about 5 years ago, since then I have had about 6 periods, all induced by the pill. My husband and I are now trying for a baby, we have not been 'careful' for about 4 years nows, so it wont happen naturally. I have just started a course of Clomid, but have been told that it is not working, I have also been told that the next step an injection of some sort, will not work either. I have PCOS pretty had, about 20 cysts on my right side and 13 on my left, like many others on here i am not the usual sterotype, not overweight with excess hair. Becuase I have it so bad my doc has pretty much told me that its up to me what treatment I want next, does anyone have any tips on what i should do, right now i dont feel like anything is gonna work!! he has suggested burning my ovaries to simulate them?
any help would be appriciated!!
thanks
katy x

Hi

Hi,

I have been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 17 ( I am now 32). I am fortunate as I had a period every month (35 days cycle) but that does not mean that I definently ovulated. I managed to get pregnant after 8 months but saddly m/c at 12 weeks. I have excess hair and acne even now but I have found that all my symptoms get better when I cut down the carbs in my diet (like the atkins diet but not as strict). That is how I managed to get pregnant in the first place. Also taking agnus castus helped although I would check with you doctor first. I am not taking any other medication. I have 2 friends that had PCOS and they both had children naturaly so it can happen.

I've heard about the ovarian drilling but dont know anyone that had it done.

good luck hun

Trying to get pregnant after ovarian drilling

Hi, I had ovarian drilling 2 months ago, the doc told me I had about 4-6 months to get pregnant. He said the operation should make me VERY fertile, so unless there was a problem with my hubby I should get pregnant no problem. Am on second month of trying, nothing yet but fingers crossed! Has anyone else been successful with ovarian drilling??

Pcos

Hi there!

I was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 21 - ttc with hubby for 5 years - had 6 months clomid, two IUI's 6 months metformin and got pregnant through IVF eventually and now have a daughter. My IVF doc didn't like ovarian drilling, but I know a girl who had this done and was pregnant the next month so it must work!

good luck xx
