"Am i pregnant 5 years after hubby's vasectomy???"

Hi,

I am looking for any advice on if anyone has experienced this or can just advise in general. I am 33 and have 4 children, so my hubby and I decided it was time for sterilisation. My hubby chose to have a vasectomy as he didn't want me to endure an op. So he had a vas almost 5 years ago.

I have continued to have regular periods and, as someone is bound to ask, have been a faithful wife. However, despite being regular I have suddenly missed 2 periods. My last one was on 15th March, so it has been 8 weeks now. I have never missed a period or been this late before, except when I was pregnant.

I suffered with Pubis Symphysis Disorder for my last 2 pregnancy's, which meant I was on crutches throughout and this P.S.D. pain has started again too, which is related to pregnancy hormones kicking in and softening the ligaments in the pelvis. I did a pregnancy test last week, that had the faintest positive line I have ever seen, as in I could only just make it out, but I have had this and negative tests with my previous pregnancies, so cannot rely entirely on the results until I would be further along, as I reckon I would be about 5-6 weeks now.

I have read about recanalisation, but wonder is it really likely my hubby's vas has failed or could something be wrong with me?

I would be delighted to have another baby, but obviously, life would be just a bit more hectic than it is now and it would be a bit of a shock.

Any advice is most welcome!

Claire.
