Endometriosis-please someone respond to this thread, i'm slowly going crazy!

Hi, i'm nearly 27, been married for a year and have been on the pill for last 2 years and 3 months (was on microgynon and now marvelon). I was diagnosed with endometriosis 2 years ago and want to start trying for a baby next summer after our 2 year wedding anniversary.I am terrified of trying because i'm scared my endometriosis will stop me getting pregnant.I have no symptoms anymore because of the pill but had lots of pain before I was on it.Has anyone out there suffered from endometriosis and did you have any trouble conceiving?Am I being over dramatic? Also, is it true that being on the pill for a long time before trying can affect your chances of conceiving?Someone once told me that it can take a year for all the hormones to be gone from your body?I asked my doctor and she said that was rubbish! I could really use your help. Thanks, Emma xxx

You're not crazy

I'm 25 and I was just diagnosed with endometriosis. I have a 2 year old son...No worries....Try for kids and go from there. Pregnancy usually will ease your symptoms of endo. Most women with endometriosis do not have problems with fertility. Talk to your doctor and discuss your options. Birth control pills do NOT affect your chances of getting pregnant after you're off of them. Most women I know got pregnant the month after they stopped. Don't worry, there are many other options if you do have problems with conceiving but I bet you won't.

Hi emma

my name is angela. i was told early this year i have mild endometriosis. but it is very painful about three weeks out of the four. i have been trying for a baby for 5 years and have tryed ivf which i found out early this month that it did not work. will have to see if i get a second chance. they say it is not down to the endometriosis. but it makes me wonder. also i was on the injection form of the pill about eight years ago. will i feel as made things worst for me. but i was told than it can take 12 months to18 for my body to get back to normal. No you are not being over dramatic. it is true about your hormones trying to get back to normal can take a year or more. angela

Sufferer too !

Hi Emma

First of all i would like to say i know exactly how you feel, have done for the past 17 years when i was diagnosed. It really broke my heart because i knew my chances of getting pregnant now became slimmer. I dont want you t feel scared but hopefully yours may not be too bad. My endo is severe, i have had , 2 surgeries, 3 failed ivf's and even tried egg donation. But still no pregnancy!
All i can say is that please do not give up it may not be so bad and before you know you will be telling that your pregnant.
Wish you all the best, oh by the way your doctor was right.

Bubs
