"Trying after cerazette"

Hi there
I'm 32 and looking to chat with others who are trying for a baby in similar situations. I'm 32 and have a 3 year old son from my previous marriage and a 5 year old step daughter belonging to my new partner, we are now trying to have a child together. I was on depo for 1 year and then Cerazette for 1 year. I came off Cerazette 3 months ago and on the 29th July had my first period. We have been trying since I came off the pill and I'm now using clearblue ovulation tests as its SUPPOSED to be my fertile time, no smiley face yet though! he he (partner doesnt know this think he may see it as sex becoming too clinical! lol!)
I had no probs concieving my son and hope this will be the same, unfortunatly we have a maternal history of early menopause in our family, though blood tests have shown I'm not there yet! thank god!
I'd love to hear from anyone in similar situations, to offer and gain support.

Chelle xxx

Hi,
I am in exactly the same situation, I had the depo injection twice around 2 years ago and then have been on cerazette since. I have a little girl aged 7 and we have just decided that we would now like another baby. I came of the pill at the end of June and had my first period on the 28th July, I am also using ovulation tests but no luck as yet. Hopefully it won't take to long for either of us.
"Any luck yet?"

Hie there I am in the same boat was on cerazette for about 18 months came off from it in Oct and had my normal period in November as well as this month december. I have 2 children which were conceived without any problems at all. Now I am trying the third one and this hasn't worked as it did last time. I wonder what this cerazette is doing to our bodies.

Just wonder how it's being going with you Chelle and if you have had luck yet to conceive.
I believe my body will come back to it's normal quickly as it hs been instant period after stopping taking the pill.

I will be glad to know if anyone has been successful in conceiving and how long it took for it to happen.

I began taking cerazette at the beginning ofthe year so about 6 mths now and have just stopped taking it mid packet to start trying for a baby.
I was going to wait until I'd finished this packet but after my doctor saying that due to this pill it could ad an extra 6 mths to our 'trying' I thought there's no time like the present.
I've logged on today to see if there are any known side effects to this pill as I haven't had my period yet. When I was on my old pill I forgot to take it for 2 days (other than that I never forget) and my period started on that 2nd day.
However after reading all your messages I don't feel so alone in not knowing what is happening to my body. I'm slightly concerned about the miscarraige stories and also about it taking months/years after stopping to concieve. I know that everyone is different but I think likt someone else has said, it just makes you feel like you weren't told things about this pill and thankfully we're not alone.

Hi, I have had a similar problem. I was on the impanant for 8 months and decided to come off it due to weight gain and very emotional. I had a six week break before i started taking cerazette. I was on this a couple of months when due to having the same effects of the implant decided to come off it. I had a bit of light irregular bleeding throughout the course of taking the pill. I have not bled for just over 5 weeks and stopped taking the pill just over 4 weeks ago. I was late with a pill just after i bled last, just before i came off it. I have done a couple of tests but both negative. I am slightly concerned as we were not trying for a baby. The tests all say take on the day your period is due - but when is this!!??Is it 28 days from my last bleed or from when i last had the pill?

If any one can help i would be grateful

Hi,

I used Cerazette to stop my headaches as combination pill drove me nuts! I have now been off my pill 4 months. It took me a month for my periods to return and since then I have been every 28 days now I am 4 days early! Aaaargh! My husband and I are trying to start a family and its so frustrating! You spend years 'being careful' and yet when you want to have a baby it seems impossible... I also used Depo provera then Dianette in a short space of time.. Makes you wonder if all this messing around trying different types of contraception messes with your body...? On top of all this, every month I am nauseated at the slightest smell and have all the symptoms...then I see red and my hopes are dashed... I wish you all luck xx

Hi there too, I realise you wrote this a long time ago, wondered if you had any joy and wanted to know if you had any advice for me.
I am kind of similar situ to you, I am 27 and have no children... but was taking cerazette. I did have a mild bleed/staining each month and when I came off it seemed to carry on this bleeding. I too have a history in the family of early menopause (36 onwards apparently) mum had me at 29 and she has told me they did try for another but with no joy. I have also tried the clearblue and used all 7 sticks with the blank circles. I too didn't tell my partner as I know in his previous relationship his wife got pregnant but lost it, so I pretty much know he is fine!

I have read websites, read charts and according to them I should be "ripe"! but nothing has happened. I even started paying attention to discharge! I know I know gross!

Any advice or ideas??

Hi, I took cerazette for 1 month and I always forgot to take it. So there was a chance that I was pregnant. I done some tests and they were positive but the line was very faint but still visible to my friends. I stopped taking cerazette in Sept approx and it's now end of Nov and not a period in sight. I went to doc and they done preg test come back neg. Meanwhile I had sore boobs, period pains since Sept, occasional sickness, fatigue, breast milk and pos preg tests. I was sure I was preg so at 11 weeks I decided to tell people the good news bearing in mind i have 2 girls already 2 and 5 yrs. Went for scan last week and no baby there. Now the thing is i know my body and all the signs were there was i preg and miscarried with no signs which i know happens as the body asborbs the baby and you don't evan know you have miscarried or was it the pill that gave me all these false feelings. I was so gutted I had to tell everyone that I miscarried cause as far as i was concerned i was def preg. I have had 3 miscarraiges before and 2 of them i did not bleed and the other one 8 months ago i did bleed with no pain. Now it's been 11 weeks with no period and i still have period pains like i am going to come on but just don't. Get back to me if you have any advice or you need some.

hi, i've been on cerazette for over a year now. i have been on quite a few diff pills now as i suffer from migraines. However, since being on cerazette, there has not been a migraine in sight. my doc did not explain to me that some women on this pill do not get any periods at all so i went to the docs panicking after not havin a period 4 2 months! about 3 months ago, i came off the pill because my fiancee and i thought it was a good time to have baby, but there were still no periods in sight! my partner has crohns disease and is on medication that reduces his fertility, so we decided that i should go bk on pill until we had spoken to his doc about our chances of conceiving. about 2 weeks after i started pill again i had a really heavy period which lasted over a week. v. strange!
We are now trying again, as we have decided that if it's meant to be then it's meant to be, but yet again no period a month on! What on earth does this pill do to our menstrual cycle?! how long do u think i will continue to have irregular peiods?

Hiya,

I had also been on cerazette for over a year. I didnt have a single period from the time I started it. (scary, because you dont know if your pregnant) I then came off it 5 mnths ago, it took me 2 1/2 mnths to get a period and they are still not regular now. I went to the doc and she said that it can take up to 6 mnths to even get a period after taken this pill. The best thing that you can do is go on net and read every little thing about cerazette.

I hope everything goes well for you

Take care

Im interested toread that Cerazette helped your migraines so much. Were these the classic menstrual migraines? And, if so, what were you taking to relieve them before the cerazette?

Hello Kerry,
New to this, but am so relieved that I am not the only one confused by cerazette! I was only on it for 2 months, within that time I have had a seven (yes seven!) week period. Therefore, I stopped taking it, immediately became premenstral and have been feeling like a beeched whale since, waiting for my period to arrive! That was 2 wks ago. We are now talking about having another baby, but am panicking that this pill has done me some damage. Thanks for listening, just needed to get that off my chest, it's the hormones you see!
help me too!

Hie Kerry!
I was on cerazette for 6 months, I had my first period 2 months later. I have one child and he is almost 2. My partner and I have been trying to conceive for the past 4 months but nothing. I can not tell you the number preg test I have bought. I'm starting to give up. I'm beginning to think that this pill has done something to us. I also need support as I am now frustrated of trying.

Hello, I have just gone on this site and found it really helpful. I don't feel so alone now! My husband and I have been trying for a baby for 4 months now and still no luck. I was on cerazette for 4 years and came off 4 months ago, had a period 6 weeks later - I didn't have periods while taking it. We conceived our son 6 years ago with no problems and I had been taking microgynon previously for years. I can only imagine that cerazette has messed up my fertility.

Hi Michelle, I wanted to reply because I feel the same- I am wondering what this pill has done to me! I was on it for nearly 3 years and my periods stopped pretty much straight away, I came off the pill on the 7th of April, hoping to give my body a chance to get back to normal before I started trying for a baby. It is now the 18th of July and still no period. I have had mildly tender breasts and some slight pain in my stomach, but I am not pregnant, did a test- but still no period. I have been to the doctors to see if they can help, and they have done blood tests, I am waiting for results. I hope things are better for you now, and wonder if now as it is July you are pregnant? I hope so!

If anyone else is in a similar boat to me, it would help to know?!

Posted by vixmil 13 March  at  17:29

Hi Sarah, I am definately in the same boat as you. I came off the pill at the beginning of November and am now starting to panic as I havn't had a period since yet trying for a baby. Im presuming im not properly fertile until I have my next period but really worrying that Carezette has done something bad to me.

I know this is over a year later from when you posted your mail on this site but would you mind telling me if you managed to conceive? I really hope you did

Vicky
