Cerazette, don't believe the hype!
It appears returning to normal fertility after Cerazette is compleately individual. I started it after my first child and was on it for 1 year i stopped taking it as was TTC. I fell pregnant 3 weeks later before ever getting a period. All the Cerazette scare mongering is not helpful, we are all different. Good luck to all

Cerazette
Hi, I have always used cerazette (well for 6 years now) I have four children the first three were concieved within months of stopping it my third child before I even had a period!! and i got pregnant with my forth child while i was still taking it!!! So iv never found any problems with it I(apart from the fact it didnt work lol) think it all just depends on the person rather than the make of pill that someone is taking

Don't give up hope with cerazette
hi
i wanted to post on here to share my cerazette story.
i had read lots of stories claiming that cerazette had caused some problems when TTC.
i came off the pill on 1/12/08, had my first period 30/12/08 & became pregnant on 11/1/09.
i was sure it would take me months to conceive due to : - i am an older mum (34) - my husband is diabetic which can affect sperm count - i have taken cerazette for years
there are lots of negative stories re cerazette but i'm not sure whether it's actually cerazette to blame as i had a less than average chance & conceived straight away.
i am now 16 weeks pregnant & over the queasiness thank god !
keep trying & i'll keep my fingers crossed for you !
xx

Cerazette success story
I was on Microgynon for 9 years, then switched to Cerazette as had migraines. I was on Cerazette for 12 months, and came off in December 2008. I'm 28, and started trying for a baby in January 09, and fell pregnant straight away (4 weeks pregnant now).
I was really worried when I read this strand about Cerazette back in December, so went straight to my doctor, who said that long term use of any pill has no effect on fertility. It doesn't stay in your body for more than 24 hours - some people get pregnant by forgetting to take just 1 pill.
I'm really sorry for anyone having problems with getting pregnant, but I think it is really important to dispell the myth that Cerazette ruins people's chances of getting pregnant, and I think scare stories like this lead people to automatically blame Cerazette for fertility problems, which could mean they miss the real reason. Getting pregnant is really hit and miss, and unfortunately can take several months or even years.
I'm planning to go back to Cerazette after my pregnancy, I thought it was miles better than Microgynon, and I had no periods.

Trying after cerazette
Hi Chelle, I don't feel so alone now after reading your post, hopefully you won't either! I have just turned 36 and came off Cerazette a few months ago too as my partner and I want to try for a baby. I am also using Clearblue ovulation tests and my partner is also unaware for exactly the same reasons!!!! Also during my supposed fertile time there has been no smiley face at all. My periods are becoming more regular now so hopefully next week I will get the smile It doesn't help that I am a Flight Attendant (part time) and seem to be away at the crucial time in the month!! This will be our first child if we are lucky and I am so afraid I have left it too late.

Pregnancy and migraine's
To everyone on this loop,
I am 28 years old and my partner and I have recently started to try for a baby. I first started taking Microgynon at the age of 15 and have been on a combined pill right through until December 2006. I have suffered with migraines for as long as I can remember so my Dr decided it might me the pill so moved me over to Cerazette.
This pill seemed great, I didn't have a period until New Year's Eve 2007 (Great timing to start again) where as every pill before hand was every 28 days without failure. And best still my migraines disappeared.
When my periods started back again though I suffered PMT more than ever before and I have been a nightmare to live with as my emotions are all over the place. I came off the pill 4 months ago as me and my partner have decided to try for a baby but like everyone else, still no regular period nor pregnancy. I've had about 5 period's this year in total. And I seem to suffer phantom pregnancies. As someone mentioned, cravings, tender, enlarged breasts, swollen stomach, nauseousness, heart burn, no period, but each time the test comes back negative.
Its starting to get me depressed now as each time I think I'm pregnant I'm not, then I'm scared that this worry as to why is slowing down my fertility even further.
It is reassuring to know there are so many more like me, but not so encouraging to know so many of us were never told the full implications of this pill. I was advised this pill is what women take on the build up to menopause, so maybe that is the reason why we cannot conceive??? I'm hoping I will have the best Christmas present ever this year so I just keep praying. Hope it works out for everyone else.
Nic xx

Is there medical evidence to suggest the side effects of stopping cerazette???
Hi everyone, I am new to this but felt the need to share and to get comfort from similar experiences. I had my son in 2000 after 2 years of trying following the combined pill (basically I didn't ovulate after stopping went through series of tests took Clomid conceived first month). I have since been divorced and re married and at the ripe age of 35 myself and hubby would like another child. I came off Cerazette (after 6 years) in Dec and had a bleed almost immediately. Then about 3 wk later - and still now I have intense period pain, nausea, dizziness, hunger and light headedness in a morning, tingling breasts and more importantly no period or positive test. The last 2 days have been agonising with pain in my pelvis I have felt about to explode. Has anyone else had such severe reaction? Would love to hear for reassurance i'm not experiencing worse things (your mind wanders as these symptoms accompany more serious things too) Luv S

Trying after cerazette
Hi, I am in exactly the same situation, I had the depo injection twice around 2 years ago and then have been on cerazette since. I have a little girl aged 7 and we have just decided that we would now like another baby. I came of the pill at the end of June and had my first period on the 28th July, I am also using ovulation tests but no luck as yet. Hopefully it won't take to long for either of us.

Any luck yet?
Hie there I am in the same boat was on cerazette for about 18 months came off from it in Oct and had my normal period in November as well as this month december. I have 2 children which were conceived without any problems at all. Now I am trying the third one and this hasn't worked as it did last time. I wonder what this cerazette is doing to our bodies.
Just wonder how it's being going with you Chelle and if you have had luck yet to conceive. I believe my body will come back to it's normal quickly as it hs been instant period after stopping taking the pill.
I will be glad to know if anyone has been successful in conceiving and how long it took for it to happen.

Cerazette....
I began taking cerazette at the beginning ofthe year so about 6 mths now and have just stopped taking it mid packet to start trying for a baby. I was going to wait until I'd finished this packet but after my doctor saying that due to this pill it could ad an extra 6 mths to our 'trying' I thought there's no time like the present. I've logged on today to see if there are any known side effects to this pill as I haven't had my period yet. When I was on my old pill I forgot to take it for 2 days (other than that I never forget) and my period started on that 2nd day. However after reading all your messages I don't feel so alone in not knowing what is happening to my body. I'm slightly concerned about the miscarraige stories and also about it taking months/years after stopping to concieve. I know that everyone is different but I think likt someone else has said, it just makes you feel like you weren't told things about this pill and thankfully we're not alone.

Cerazette
Hi, I have had a similar problem. I was on the impanant for 8 months and decided to come off it due to weight gain and very emotional. I had a six week break before i started taking cerazette. I was on this a couple of months when due to having the same effects of the implant decided to come off it. I had a bit of light irregular bleeding throughout the course of taking the pill. I have not bled for just over 5 weeks and stopped taking the pill just over 4 weeks ago. I was late with a pill just after i bled last, just before i came off it. I have done a couple of tests but both negative. I am slightly concerned as we were not trying for a baby. The tests all say take on the day your period is due - but when is this!!??Is it 28 days from my last bleed or from when i last had the pill?
If any one can help i would be grateful

Cerazette
Hi,
I used Cerazette to stop my headaches as combination pill drove me nuts! I have now been off my pill 4 months. It took me a month for my periods to return and since then I have been every 28 days now I am 4 days early! Aaaargh! My husband and I are trying to start a family and its so frustrating! You spend years 'being careful' and yet when you want to have a baby it seems impossible... I also used Depo provera then Dianette in a short space of time.. Makes you wonder if all this messing around trying different types of contraception messes with your body...? On top of all this, every month I am nauseated at the slightest smell and have all the symptoms...then I see red and my hopes are dashed... I wish you all luck xx

Snap!
Hi there too, I realise you wrote this a long time ago, wondered if you had any joy and wanted to know if you had any advice for me. I am kind of similar situ to you, I am 27 and have no children... but was taking cerazette. I did have a mild bleed/staining each month and when I came off it seemed to carry on this bleeding. I too have a history in the family of early menopause (36 onwards apparently) mum had me at 29 and she has told me they did try for another but with no joy. I have also tried the clearblue and used all 7 sticks with the blank circles. I too didn't tell my partner as I know in his previous relationship his wife got pregnant but lost it, so I pretty much know he is fine!
I have read websites, read charts and according to them I should be "ripe"! but nothing has happened. I even started paying attention to discharge! I know I know gross!
Any advice or ideas?? Nina )

Trying for a baby
Hi, I took cerazette for 1 month and I always forgot to take it. So there was a chance that I was pregnant. I done some tests and they were positive but the line was very faint but still visible to my friends. I stopped taking cerazette in Sept approx and it's now end of Nov and not a period in sight. I went to doc and they done preg test come back neg. Meanwhile I had sore boobs, period pains since Sept, occasional sickness, fatigue, breast milk and pos preg tests. I was sure I was preg so at 11 weeks I decided to tell people the good news bearing in mind i have 2 girls already 2 and 5 yrs. Went for scan last week and no baby there. Now the thing is i know my body and all the signs were there was i preg and miscarried with no signs which i know happens as the body asborbs the baby and you don't evan know you have miscarried or was it the pill that gave me all these false feelings. I was so gutted I had to tell everyone that I miscarried cause as far as i was concerned i was def preg. I have had 3 miscarraiges before and 2 of them i did not bleed and the other one 8 months ago i did bleed with no pain. Now it's been 11 weeks with no period and i still have period pains like i am going to come on but just don't. Get back to me if you have any advice or you need some.
