Any egg donors in fife or edinburgh?
Hi, my names Dawn and my husbands name is Gareth and we are both desperate for a family of our own.
we ahve been trying for a family for more 10yrs now and can't have our own children. Having gone through with ivf 2 yrs ago and being told that I can't have children as I am going through the menopause totally tore me apart and couldn't think of being told anything more hurtful ever. I always thought I would be ok, as I come from quite a fertile family. My parents had 5 kids, one of sisters has 4 kids, the other has 1 and my brother has 2, so never thought it would be a problem but it has.
When we went for the ivf we were told that as my eggs were such poor quality that we would only be given 1 try, as I would have to be put onto the maximum doage they could give, and failing that then our only other options were to adopt, foster, egg donation or accept a childless life-the latter not open for discussion!!
We have taken time out for the past 2 yrs as we hade been under treatments at our local hospital for 3yrs then almost 2 yrs at ninewells before the ivf and felt we needed to take a step back and try and become ourselves again, as it takes such control of your life, it's frightining at times.
It's now that we feel we are ready to try again, but having been offered help from a feind who let us down for best part of 6 mths, instead of being honest, and other friends thinking that they might be able to help, we've decided that it maybe better to try other ways.
