hi
How long has everyone been trying for?
Me and DH have been trying now for three months, I know loads of people are going to say they've been tryiong for a baby for longer, but how long do you give it until you go the to doctor's and think about infertility treatment?

good luckxxxx

Hi, My partner and I have been having the same problem. We have been trying for 8 months now, I was told that the doctors wouldn't do anything untill after a year of trying. It's getting me really down, I keep doing tests at the slight sign of being pregnant but they are always negative even though I am showing signs of being pregnant. There are tests you can buy on the internet to check your's and your partners fertlity levels. Hope this helps.
Good luckxx

Hi,
funnilly enough I went to doctors yesterday to ask the same question. Doctor told me coulple are best trying for up to one year before seeking medical advice.
Me and my partner have been tring 4 6 month now. I am 5 week late on period but have had 4 neg tests. Last did 1 on fri. Doctor wants me 2 have high sensitivity test, so will do thAT TOMMORROW. I have been getting a lot of symptoms but obviously not pregnant.
To be honest you better off not geting too stressed out about it, the more you worry about it the more false symptoms you get.
But I know how frustrating it is. Doctor also told me to try three times a week, that way you are bound to cath apparently!
Hey good luck, let me know how you get on

i've been trying for about the same, maybe abit longer, i know i'm only 21 but i've wanted a baby for ages! i feel so jealous when i see expectant mothers and i've been thinking about going to the doctors but i'm worried he may try and talk me out of it because i'm youngish! i've tried folic acid and all the right veggies and other pregnancy boosts! but still nothing! i'm getting frustrated everytime i get a period, i'm sick of buying tests then it turning out negative! i know this doesn't help you any i'm sorry! but i feel slighty better knowing i'm not the only one out there in the same situation. cheers becca x

In the UK doctor's tell you to try for a year before asking for help, I think that even if you make love in your most fertile period, you only have about a one in four chance of conceiving anyway, so don't worry!

Above all, sorry for my english:I'm writing from Italy. I red your forum for curiosity and to improve my english. I want suggest you something. I'm murried since 2001 and my doctor told me to wait 1 year befor start all the necessary control. I followed his suggest, but now I think I made a mistake, because I lost only time. This because you could find someting to resolve and in this way you'd stard one year later. I hope you understand, it' very difficult for me to expalin this concept in english. Anyway, I suggest you to start now!! How old are you? I'm 39, so I haven't much time! So I have been trying for 3 years and.....no babies! Thank you for you attention.

Since I had my second child 12 years ago, we have been trying for another, I have not been successful. I have had tests of every kind but still no luck. I was told that my system is okay and they see no reason why I should not conceive.
I just wanted to have one more then I am finish. Ca you help?

I got pregnant after only tryin for about three weeks - but I reckon if you've been trying for ages and nothings happening, go and see the GP

I think about a year?
"6-8 months"

My friend found it difficult to get pregnant, it took about a year. However her GP recommended she have a few test after about 6 - 8 months to check all was ok. She went for these test and then fell pregnant naturally a few months later. Don't put too much pressure on yourself and it will probably happen soon. Good Luck ! xxx
