"Slavic names for a girl?"
Posted by marabsky 23 November  at  17:05

My family is Ukrainian, although I grew up in Canada (lots of ukrainians and expat culture there). I now live in South Africa, and am quite nostalgic for my heritage....

My baby girl is due in March. My husband hates my favorite name, Natalka (Ukrainian for Natalie). He is quite happy with Mila, though.

Are there any other pretty slavic names for girls that anyone can suggest?

"My italian speaking husband likes mila too! hates tekla..."

Although he is South african he studied shoe design in italy and speaks italian - he likes Mila so that is our "working title".

I forgot to say the other name I really love is my mom's ukrainian name Tekla (which is Tillie in english, but I prefer the ukrainian version). Of course my husband hates it!

I am biding my time, and still have hope we can use Tekla as a middle name....

"Thanks!"
