"Last name begins with a vowel - help!"
Posted by corgikelly 14 January  at  01:21

My partner's last name is "Over" ... and I keep reading everywhere that one should never choose a first name that ends in a vowel when the last name begins with one. The problem is that ALL of my favorite girl's names end in vowels: Zoé, Chloé, Emily, Emma.

Has anyone bucked the trend and combined final-vowel with initial-vowel? Is it really a terrible idea?

Could you not give the child your surname too to break the name up a bit?
