Help what goes with murgatroyd?

Hi, please help my lovely, lovely friend who is pregnant and due in July. We can think of a few names for girls that go with Murgatroyd by struggling with boys names. She likes both traditional and quirky names, so all suggestions are VERY welcome. Thanks in advance, Michelle

Lyrical match

dear friend of new-baby mom,

as a poet and lyricist, i aimed to use keen musical&dramatic senses to sound the last name with first names to blend not only the literal sounds, but also the undertones, of each name. The last name you mentioned is a serious, sharp name, so i felt the first name could incorporate something elegant or "romantic" (yet perhaps not long, as the last name is already long.) i would never impose with a specific advice, being i am not in the family/close, but here is my advice: search names, such as classic or simple names, sound them to find the elegant, romantic, or carefree touch. (Like an "airy feel" that is the opposite feel of the surname.) This romantic et al feel will blend nicely with the wonderful and proud, strong/rougher name of Murgatroyd. I will mention one specific: for this light touch, i thought boy names starting with vowels would be good to try first. for example, E procounced "eh" often begins a light and romantic name! P.S. to the parents: WHEN desired, NEVER FEAR using your own CREATED NAME. you have "created" a home for his spirit; feel free to name it!

Names that go with murgatroyd

Hi. I am probably way out of date with your question now, but have only just seen it. I had this problem - surname Murgatroyd! 2 syllable first names go well with it. We had shortlisted Toby, Henry, Finlay & Rohan for boys and ended up using a combination over 2 daughters of Sorrel, Evie, Eden and Willow. The prettier the better for girls as it ain't a particularly beautiful surname! At least the girls can change it!

Neutral names with unusual surnames

I think it's best to go with fairly neutral names when the surname is really unusual otherwise it's a bit overkill (and almost becomes jokey sounding - think Engelbert Humperdinck!)
If I had a surname like Smith I'd be racking my brains for an exotic christian name to liven it up a bit but with Murgatroyd you can probably get away with something more classic e.g. James
