My given name was Lavinia, and I'm afraid that throughout my school career I was subjected to every lavatory joke under the sun.

Lavinia is a pretty name (and there's a beautiful rose with that name), but children will always shorten it, and Lav is NOT so pretty.

how bizarre! but as a woman with a similar name to number 21 on your list i can certainly vouch for the fact that my name is great and like a little black dress, can take you anywhere,to my friends and family im flick, fliss or flissy.But when i go to interviews, im Felicity.Its grown with me too, as a tot i was called flossy, now its more trendy and twenty-something as in flick.And i suppose when i am an oap, i will insist upon being called Effy! good luck with your choice any way and happy parenting.flickc@hotmail.co.uk

its more natural to be called fliss flick or felicity,constance is my surname although its not too bad a name its a bit too formal and the too togehter have often made me feel a bit like a character out of pride and prejudice.lol.My little boy was named before he was born but maybe its better to wait til their born after all it is like meeting someone new,you might be able to do it better when you are holding her in your arms and it might just come to you. i think the best way to be when you are expecting is completely relaxed and natural, by the way if i had a baby girl i would call her mischa.so cute.

Well there u r there is my opnion, sorry if its brutal, but u asked 'lol'. i have a 3 year old girl 'Emilie-Mai' and found it so hard 2 find the right 1.
