Help, new and desperate!!!

Hello Ladies

My name is Claire and I am new to the forums. I am due to go into hospital next Friday (17th August) for a planned C-Section and as yet do not have any names that we can decide on. We really wanted an unusual name, so to avoid the baby having to use his/her surname at school to distinguish between other children with the same name. We have come up with some unusual Irish names that we like, but cannot spell or pronounce them from there spellings and we dont like the english spelling of them, both girls names Caoimhe (pronounced Keeva) also Ciara (Pronounced Kiera).

We do know that we want Faith for a middle name for a girl and Alexander for a boy, in memory of family members.... we have the following so far but nothing really jumps out;

Ella Faith
Emily Faith
Faith Alexandra
Lucy Faith
Georgia Faith

Luke Alexander
Benjamin Alexander
Corey Alexander
Caiden Alexander (or Cadan)
Aaron Alexamder
Ellis Alexander
Isaac Alexander

As you can see we have alot of popular names but are really struggling with our choices. Would love to know your opinions on the above and any other suggestions would be welcome. Our surname is McKenna.

Thanks very much ladies.

A very desperate mummy to be, Claire

Thank you very much for your replies and well wishes. Some of the names you have suggested are really nice, especially like Corran. I will let you know what name we decide on when we have our new arrival.

Thanks again

Claire X

Hope this helps

Hi Claire,
Good luck with the C section, I am having one in 6 weeks too, not looking forward to it though!
I like Faith and Ella for the girls, Issac is my fav out of the boys.
I used to work with a boy called Corran and think it's a gorgeous name, would be tempted to use it myself but the new baby is a girl. It's not Irish, but is a place in Scotland so there is still a Celtic link.
Hope this helps

Nikki

Hi claire!

firstly i want to say good luck for the C section. the 17th is my mam's b'day and also my 2 yr old nephew Jac Leo's b'day.

i read your post and seen you were looking for a slightly unusual name.

How about Cavan. its cute and unusual.

My new nephew now 4 months is called Cory-Lee, and it is really cute name and seen Cory was one of your choices.

Im 4 months pregnant next week and already set on a boys name which is Euan Rhys.

Good luck for next week and let us now what you choose as the name.

What about

Hi Claire

What about Dermot spelt as Diarmuid.

Diarmuid - (DEER-mit) From the Old Irish male name, Diarmait. This was a traditional baby boy name in the McCarthy, McDermott, O'Brien, and O'Connor families. According to Irish folklore, Diarmaid was one of Finn mac Cumaill's warriors. Legend has it that he was blessed with a mark on his face which caused maidens to immediately fall head over heels in love with them as soon as they saw him. Anglicized version: Dermot.

You could have Diarmuid Alexander McKenna.

For a Girl.. my name is quite unusual and irish.. there are several spellings.. Scottish way is Shona and the Irish is Shaun

You could have Shauna Faith McKenna

I like Zara for a girl not irish but it does sound nice Zara Faith Mckenna

Anyway a few ideas.. hope everything goes well good luck :0)
